Ensuring power supply during the Lunar New Year

Dak Lak Power Company stated that it is implementing a range of coordinated measures to ensure the best possible electricity supply to meet public demand during the Lunar New Year 2026.

Accordingly, the power sector will not undertake works that require suspension or reduction of electricity supply resulting in customer outages during the Tet holiday from February 14 to 22, 2026, except in cases of incidents or force majeure. Prior to this period, the company carried out inspections to identify and promptly rectify defects in power sources and the grid, ensured the safety of high-voltage transmission corridors, and prepared vehicles, materials and personnel to immediately implement remedial works on the grid when required.

The company has also directed its subordinate power management teams and the high-voltage grid enterprise to inspect and reinforce the grid to ensure safe, continuous and reliable electricity supply for customers, and for venues hosting political, cultural and artistic activities during the holiday. At the same time, it has proactively worked with local authorities to obtain information on the timing and locations of festivals and events, in order to arrange appropriate power supply plans and ensure safe operation with flexible switching in the event of incidents.

In addition, the company has required power management teams and enterprises to step up public communication and strictly handle cases involving the launching of metallic-coated paper fireworks, kite flying, or throwing objects onto power lines in violation of corridor safety regulations. It has requested support and coordination from local authorities at all levels in communication, guidance and mobilisation of residents to erect ceremonial New Year bamboo poles while ensuring safe clearance distances from high-voltage and medium-voltage power lines, in order to prevent incidents where the installation or removal of such poles violates safety distances, causes electrical accidents, or leads to grid failures.

Currently, Dak Lak Power Company supplies electricity to 953,050 customers. Electricity demand during the Lunar New Year 2026 in the province is forecast to rise significantly.
