A working delegation of Dak Lak PPC, led by comrade Do Huu Huy, Alternate Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and PPC Chairman, held a working session with AEON Vietnam Co., Ltd. to promote investment in constructing a commercial centre while introducing key provincial products into the global distribution system.

At the meeting, Director of the Department of Industry and Trade Nguyen Thi Thu An presented an overview of the provincial socio-eco situation. Accordingly, Dak Lak is a major agricultural production centre in the Central Highlands, with Buon Ma Thuot coffee serving as flagship product, covering more than 212,000 hectares and generating export output of approximately 240,000 tonnes annually, protected by geographical indication in 32 countries as well as exported to over 70 markets worldwide.
Furthermore, Dak Lak has a range of high- potential product sectors including durian, tropical fruits such as avocado, mango, banana and longan, along with pepper, macadamia, cocoa and honey - products with large output, more than 90% of which are exported to markets including the United States, the EU together with the Middle East.
With abundant supply, strong processing capacity, internationally standardised quality and export turnover in 2025 reaching approximately 2.8 billion USD, Dak Lak is increasingly affirming its position as a major agricultural supply hub of the country, ready to expand cooperation alongside bring its distinctive local products into domestic and international distribution systems.
At the session, Director of the Department of Construction, Mr. Cao Dinh Huy introduced to AEON the provincial strategic locations, favourable transport conditions, population distribution and integrated infrastructure connectivity prepared for investment cooperation.
Mr. Hagino Tatsuya, Senior Director of the Project Development and Construction Division of AEON Vietnam, stated that AEON is currently focusing on developing shopping mall systems in major urban centres such as Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi, Da Nang and Mekong Delta. Given Dak Lak’s agricultural potential and strengths, AEON expressed its intention to deepen cooperation as well as bring the provincial distinctive products into its supermarket network in Vietnam and overseas. Simultaneously, AEON hopes that the province will facilitate site surveys alongside assessments to enable rapid investment and development of a supermarket in Dak Lak.

Addressing the meeting, PPC Chairman, comrade Do Huu Huy noted that Dak Lak is prioritising improvements in product quality, development of internationally standardised raw material areas, together with promotion of deep processing to enhance added value of local agricultural products. He expressed expectation that AEON will invest in a commercial centre in Dak Lak, while facilitating the entry of key provincial products into AEON’s domestic and international distribution networks; along with allocating dedicated display spaces for key products, OCOP items and typical rural industrial products of Dak Lak within AEON systems in Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City alongside Da Nang.
The PPC Chairman affirmed that the province will provide the most favourable conditions for AEON to expedite project implementation. In the immediate term, both sides will finalise cooperation contents and sign a memorandum of understanding at the provincial Investment Promotion Conference scheduled for June 2026, while coordinating annual trade promotion activities and organising Dak Lak Product Weeks across the AEON system.
