Enhancing vocational training in coordination with businesses

In the context of a labor market constantly demanding increasingly higher vocational skills, vocational education institutions in Dak Lak province have been proactively innovating training methods towards practical approaches and strengthening links with businesses.

This approach not only improves the quality of training but also gradually solves the employment issue, aiming for sustainable employment opportunities for students after graduation.

During the recent years, the system of vocational colleges and secondary schools in Dak Lak province has seen significant changes in training. Instead of being heavily focused on theory as before, training institutions have gradually adjusted their programs to increase the amount of practical training, developing vocational skills, soft skills, and industrial working style for students.

During the teaching process, Tay Nguyen Polytechnic College has regularly collaborated with businesses to review and update programs and curricula to suit actual recruitment requirements. Beyond traditional training models, the Central College of Industry and Trade implements training courses tailored to the specific needs of businesses. Many experts, engineers, and production managers directly participate in teaching and sharing practical experience with students. Dak Lak College focuses on fields with high labor demand such as: automotive technology, mechanics, electrical engineering, information technology, veterinary medicine, plant protection, hotel management, etc.

One of the key highlights in vocational training in Dak Lak province is the increasingly close collaboration between schools and businesses.

Ms. Tran Thi Thiet, Chairwoman of the Board of Directors and Principal of Buon Ma Thuot Vocational College, stated that business linkages are identified as a key solution to improve training effectiveness. Vocational training is only truly successful when learners find employment and are able to perform their jobs effectively. Therefore, the school always considers businesses as strategic partners, accompanying students from the training stage until they find employment.

The Central College of Industry and Trade has also established links with approximately 200 businesses inside and outside the province to organize visits, experiences, and internships for students at production and business facilities. Recommending students to higher education institutions does not only assist them but also master practical skills, shortening the adaptation time when entering the official work environment. In fact, many students have been retained by businesses after graduation, enjoying stable incomes.

According to Deputy Director of the Department of Education and Training, Ms. Le Thi Kim Oanh, strengthening the link between schools and businesses in vocational training for students is not only an inevitable trend but also a fundamental solution to improve the quality of human resources. With current efforts at innovation, vocational education in Dak Lak province has been gradually affirming its important role in job creation and contributing to the sustainable socio-economic development of the locality.
