After the floods, the risk of renewed poverty is present for many households in Eastern Dak Lak. However, thanks to the timely disbursement of social policy credit, thousands of households have quickly restored production and stabilized lives.
In Ngoc Lang neighborhood (Tuy Hoa ward), at the end of November 2025, right after the floodwaters receded, farmers began planting flowers and vegetables to serve the Tet market. However, this is also the period when people are almost completely depleted of resources after the natural disaster. For crops requiring large investment costs such as gladiolus, without loan capital, many households would have to miss the most important harvest of the year.

According to Ms. Dang Thi Au, Deputy Director of Dak Lak Provincial Branch of Vietnam Bank for Social Policies (VBSP), immediately after receiving the capital allocation from the Central government, the bank has promptly coordinated with communes and wards to review the list of households affected by natural disasters, and established working groups to expedite disbursement, helping people quickly restore production.
In the last two months of 2025, the Dak Lak Provincial Branch of the VBSP disbursed VND 431 billion to more than 13,000 poor households and policy beneficiaries; in particularly, the Eastern region accounted for VND 211 billion with 7,348 loan recipients, focusing on the goal of restoring production and business after storms and floods. Thanks to this, many households not only overcame immediate difficulties but also had the opportunity to stabilize their long-term livelihoods, avoiding the risk of falling back into poverty.
Beyond providing new loans, the Vietnam Bank for Social Policies (VBSP) also implemented a 2% interest rate reduction, as stipulated in Decision No. 2731/QD-TTg dated December 16th, 2025, by the Prime Minister, for loans with outstanding balances from October 1st to December 31st, 2025. The total amount of interest reduced across the province exceeded VND 70 billion, with nearly VND 30 billion in the Eastern region alone, helping over 252,000 households alleviate their financial burden after the natural disaster.
It is noteworthy that the implementation of post-flood policy credit was not indiscriminate but focused on key areas. Capital was prioritized for areas severely affected and households capable of rapid production recovery, thus creating a ripple effect in the community.
