This year, the family of Mr. Tran Van Tuan (Village 13, Ea Ktur commune) is cultivating 200 kumquat trees. The saplings were brought from Hanoi, and it takes about three years of careful tending from planting to harvest. According to Mr. Tuan, Dak Lak’s climate and soil are highly suitable for kumquats, producing fruit that is smoother, glossier and more durable than in other regions. With prices ranging from VND 2-3 million per tree, he expects to earn around VND 400 million this Tet season.
