Promoting the role of the Youth Union in the new phase

In recent years, under the leadership of the Youth Union, young people nationwide in general, and Dak Lak province in particular, have launched numerous vibrant emulation movements with broad impact, aligned with community needs as well as local development.

From peak volunteer campaigns to regular activities, Youth Union members and young people across the province have joined hands to implement hundreds of meaningful projects alongside initiatives, such as rural road construction, “Lighting up rural roads” and “National flag roads”, together with organising “Green Sunday” with diverse environmental protection activities.

At the start of 2026, Spring Volunteer Campaign was rolled out by Youth Union and Association at all levels across the province, with a total budget of over 27 billion VND dedicated to social welfare activities. A wide range of meaningful programmes were organised, including free medical examinations and medicine distribution for more than 5,000 people; over 50,000 essential products along with more than 1,300 Tet gift packages; over 8,600 gifts to poor households as well as policy beneficiary families; and 4,650 support packages for disadvantaged students.

During Youth Month 2026, young people across the province have actively carried out practical initiatives, from small projects serving daily community needs to large-scale volunteer programmes, fostering a strong spirit of dedication and responsibility to the community.

This pioneering spirit not only goes beyond movements but also strongly extends into economic development. A growing number of young people are engaging in entrepreneurship, innovation, along with application of science and technology in production, gradually enhancing product value as well as income, while creating stable employment for local youth.

Notable examples include organic coffee production model of Mr. Y Pot Nie in Ea Na commune; the community-based tourism model of Mr. Y Sol Sruk in Lien Son Lak commune; An Cu sedge mat production - service - tourism cooperative in O Loan commune, led by Mr. Nguyen Anh Quan; and Binh Trieu rice wine model of Mr. Tran Binh Trieu in Xuan Loc commune.

Building a strong Youth Union

Entering a new development phase, Dak Lak is facing numerous opportunities alongside increasing demands in reform, organisational restructuring, and enhancing the effectiveness of political system.

In this context, Youth Union bodies at all levels in the province have focused on organisational consolidation, improving staff quality, together with innovating content and operational methods towards greater effectiveness. Application of digital transformation in member management and activities has been promoted, gradually enhancing capacity to unite as well as mobilise young people.

According to Ms. Le Hieu Vy, Secretary of the Youth Union of Ngo Gia Tu high school, Youth Union must serve as a source of inspiration, creating opportunities, while leading action in order to inspire dedication among young people. It must also build an environment where youth can train, experience, and mature, while prioritising strong grassroots Youth Union organisations with officials who are proactive and accountable.

When Youth Union is truly strong and operates effectively, it will attract and unite large numbers of young people, thereby fostering widespread and in-depth movements with significant impact.

Youth Union must continue to innovate strongly, placing young people at the centre and creating an environment for development. When young people are properly empowered, they will become a vital resource for the provincial development.

Mr. Luong Minh Tung, Vice Chairman of the provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee and Secretary of the Provincial Youth Union
