The 10th Buon Ma Thuot Coffee Festival in 2027 features 20 official activities

Comrade Dao My, PPC Vice Chairman, chaired a meeting to review the draft plan for the 10th Buon Ma Thuot Coffee Festival in 2027.

Accordingly, the 10th Buon Ma Thuot Coffee Festival is expected to take place from March 6th to April 4th, 2027, with the theme “Buon Ma Thuot - The Destination of World Coffee”. A groundbreaking new feature of this festival is its extended duration of nearly a month, focusing mainly on weekend events.

The 10th Buon Ma Thuot Coffee Festival holds significant and practical socio-political importance, celebrating the 52nd anniversary of the Victory of Buon Ma Thuot as well as the liberation of Dak Lak province (March 10th, 1975 - March 10th, 2027), along with the 52nd anniversary commemorating the liberation of Phu Yen province (April 1st, 1975 - April 1st, 2027). Through the festival, Dak Lak province continues to affirm the position of the “Buon Ma Thuot Coffee” brand, which is protected in 32 countries, while also honoring coffee growers, processors, and traders.

The draft plan outlines 20 main activities with highlights including: a competition for creating promotional content for the Coffee Festival on the internet; a large-scale coffee exhibition with 600 booths; an international economic parliament; and the 9th Vietnam Specialty Coffee Competition. The event included the opening of a night tour in Buon Ma Thuot titled “Echoes from the Great Forest”; a live performance of art titled “The Land of Illusions”, etc.

In addition, there are other activities attracting tourists such as: Street Festivals; Roadshow “Buon Ma Thuot Coffee Journey - From the Great Forest to the Blue Sea”; Buon Ma Thuot Light Festival; Rock Music Night “Burning Passion” in Tuy Hoa ward; and tourism journeys with the tours of coffee experience, exploring heritage sites and connecting “Forest - Sea” between Dak Lak and Phu Yen, etc.

At the meeting, representatives from various departments, sectors, and units suggested that the 10th Buon Ma Thuot Coffee Festival needs further innovation, including upgrading and revitalizing the festival into a global coffee industry forum as the main theme of the festival, thereby promoting and affirming the position of Vietnamese Robusta coffee. Furthermore, linking the festival with tourism requires attracting the participation of localities to promote typical agricultural products as well as the unique and refined culture of the local.

Addressing the meeting, comrade Dao My, PPC Vice Chairman, requested the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism to coordinate with the Buon Ma Thuot Coffee Association and relevant agencies to finalize the project and submit it for approval by the competent authority, and then conduct the project as schedule.
