Women entrepreneurs in the era of national advancement

In the context of a new era, women entrepreneurs in Dak Lak are no longer only a supporting force behind the scenes. They are now taking the lead in economic development, running enterprises, mastering technology, and making important contributions to national development.

Strong transformation in integration

Women engaged in economic activity in Dak Lak have become an increasingly familiar and inspiring presence. Enterprises led by women currently account for around 25% of all enterprises in the province, while the female workforce contributes nearly half of the value generated in the local economy.

The more than 20-year journey of Ms. Nguyen Thi Dung, Director of Viet Thang Production - Trading - Services Co., Ltd., is a vivid example. Starting from a small establishment, through perseverance and long-term vision, she has built the enterprise into a reputable supplier of labour protection equipment, with more than 300 agents nationwide. Its products are not only available in Laos and Cambodia but also have reached the United States market. The company provides stable employment for nearly 200 workers and, over the past five years, has earmarked more than 6 billion VND for charitable activities, reflecting a balance between economic development and community responsibility.

Alongside renewing business strategies and strictly complying with State regulations, Ms. Huynh Thi Khiet, Chairwoman of the Board of Directors and General Director of An Hung JSC (ANHUCO), has demonstrated strong leadership and dedication. When established in 2006, ANHUCO had only a few hundred workers and faced numerous challenges. Through flexible management, gradual strategic adjustments, the application of technical advances in production, and the scientific organisation of production lines, she guided the company toward stability and sustainable growth. After two decades, ANHUCO has grown into a system comprising 5 factories, 56 industrial sewing lines, 10 functional departments, and nearly 2,500 staff and workers. The company consistently fulfils its obligations to the State and actively contributes to social welfare activities in the locality.

Accompanying women’s development

The success of each individual is closely linked to solidarity and the support of associations together with organisations. Ms. Nguyen Thi Ngoc Anh, Chairwoman of the Dak Lak Women Entrepreneurs Association, said the association serves as a platform to connect members, protect their legitimate rights, and create conditions for them to support one another in production and business activities. It is not only a place to exchange experience but also a “common home” that helps women carry out start-up activities effectively, turning initial ideas into sustainable economic models such as the Kotam community tourism site, a highlight of the province’s eco-cultural tourism.

Looking ahead, the association’s work is also undergoing a pivotal shift. According to Ms. Kim Thoa Adrong, Standing Vice Chairwoman of the Dak Lak Provincial Women’s Union, during the 2026 - 2030 term, the role of the union will shift from “support” to “accompanying women to lead”. To ensure women genuinely become a core force in the digital economy, the provincial Women’s Union has set the goal that 100% of grassroots chapters will develop action programmes on digital transformation. Instead of focusing solely on theoretical training, the union will emphasise hands-on guidance and specialised training so that women can master e-commerce platforms while building digital brands for OCOP products and community tourism.
