Amid deep integration alongside intensifying competition, improving productivity and product quality has become a decisive factor for enterprises to enhance competitiveness, expand markets, as well as participate more deeply in global value chains.
Supporting productivity and quality improvement
During the 2021 - 2025 period, the programme of supporting enterprises in improving productivity and product quality, implemented across the province, has provided practical assistance along with strong impetus for enterprises to apply scientific and technological (S&T) advances, innovation, thereby enhance production as well as business efficiency.
So far, a total of 141 enterprise engagements have received support in applying management systems together with productivity and quality improvement tools. In addition, the province has supported assessment, certification, and conformity declarations with standards and technical regulations for 247 dossiers as well as products, creating a solid legal and quality foundation for market circulation. Notably, there has been a breakthrough in agriculture, with 131 establishments granted VietGAP together with VietGAHP certification.

One of the programme’s highlights is its support for enterprises in building advanced management systems such as ISO 9001:2015, ISO 22000:2018, and HACCP. These are rigorous standards requiring comprehensive changes from management mindset through operational processes.
N&H Agricultural Products JSC, based in Tan An ward, is among the units supported in developing and applying a quality management system in accordance with TCVN ISO 9001:2015. Ms. Nguyen Thi Huong, the company’s director, stated that since adopting ISO 9001:2015, production processes have been standardised, improving control, reducing costs, along with improving competitiveness. This serves as a quality commitment, allowing the company to confidently expand its market.
Building on this management foundation, the company has now achieved ISO 22000:2018 certification and is finalising procedures for officially export its agricultural products through formal channels.
Contributing to realisation of growth objectives
As the core agency responsible for advising and implementing support policies, in addition to technical assistance, the S&T Department has also prioritised communication activities together with organised training courses on traceability alongside barcode systems. Deputy Director Pham Gia Viet stated that applying advanced management systems not only helps enterprises standardise processes but also represents the most direct pathway to enhancing the value, brand, and competitiveness of Dak Lak’s goods on the global map.

Despite encouraging outcomes, the national programme of supporting enterprises in improving provincial productivity and product quality still faces challenges. Dak Lak aims to continue issuing local technical standards for key products while strengthening international cooperation.
Mr. Pham Gia Viet assessed: “After five years of implementation, the programme has closely followed its objectives, actively supporting the business community in improving competitiveness, thereby contributing to enhanced productivity, quality, and overall competitiveness of the provincial economy”.
In the 2026 - 2030 period, Dak Lak will place stronger emphasis on digital transformation, green productivity, and smart manufacturing. The goal is to support 150 - 200 enterprise engagements in achieving breakthroughs, while also focusing on training a local pool of productivity and quality experts to accompany enterprises.
