Under the theme “The Essence of Golden Longline – Aspiration to Reach the Open Sea”, the festival will feature a wide range of rich and engaging activities that reflect the distinctive identity of maritime culture. A highlight of the event will be the special art program “The Essence of Golden Longline – Aspiration to Reach the Open Sea,” which recreates the origins of the tuna fishing industry, pays tribute to pioneering fishermen, and includes a ceremonial presentation of the “golden longline” to the younger generation, symbolizing the aspiration to carry on the tradition and venture further into the open seas.
Within the framework of the festival, an installation art exhibition titled “The Essence of Golden Longline” and a dedicated tuna culinary space will also take place. The culinary festival “Ocean Tuna – The Essence of the Sea” is expected to offer unique gastronomic experiences, contributing to the promotion of Dak Lak’s maritime culinary values.
The festival will also provide a platform for trade promotion and investment connectivity, featuring product exhibitions and the introduction of tuna processing, preservation and export technologies, along with a dedicated area for businesses to meet and sign cooperation agreements.
Notably, a Green Marine Economy Forum will be organized, bringing together experts, enterprises, fishermen and managers to discuss solutions for the sustainable development of the tuna industry, with the aim of building a national brand and registering a geographical indication for Dak Lak tuna in the coming time.
The Dak Lak Tuna Festival 2026 is expected to become an annual event with wide-reaching impact, contributing to enhancing the value of the fisheries sector, promoting the local image, and boosting the province’s economic and tourism development.
According to the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, preparations are currently being carried out urgently and in a coordinated manner. A comprehensive plan is being finalized, with specific tasks assigned to relevant departments, agencies and localities to ensure progress and quality, thereby ensuring that the festival is held on schedule and successfully.
