The development of transport infrastructure has emerged as a prominent hallmark of the 13th National Party Congress tenure, clearly reflecting the Party’s leadership role and the concerted engagement of the entire political system.
The 13th National Party Congress identified infrastructure development as one of three strategic breakthroughs, with the construction of synchronous and modern transport system placed at the core. This was not merely a guiding orientation but was swiftly translated into concrete targets: completing around 3,000 km of expressways by 2025 and striving to reach 5,000 km by 2030.

Based on these major guidelines of the Party and the State, a series of nationally significant transport projects have been rolled out with urgency and determination.
Among the most notable is Component Project 3 of the Khanh Hoa - Buon Ma Thuot Expressway, spanning more than 48 km with a total investment exceeding 6 trillion VND, running through Dak Lak province and recently opened to technical traffic. This project has been identified as a key national work, bearing a clear imprint of the tenure. In parallel, two other important component projects of the Eastern North-South Expressway (2021-2025 period) are underway in the province, namely Chi Thanh - Van Phong and Quy Nhon - Chi Thanh sections, with a combined length of over 90 km.
The greatest value of transport infrastructure projects implemented during the 13th Congress tenure lies not only in their immediate impact but also in their long-term significance for national development. As the expressway network gradually takes shape, the national development space is being restructured. The North-South expressway serves as a strategic longitudinal axis linking key economic regions, while the Khanh Hoa - Buon Ma Thuot Expressway forms a vital east-west corridor, opening new development pathways from the Central Highlands to the sea.

Simultaneously, modern transport infrastructure is creating a strong pull for investors. In practice, many enterprises place transport connectivity as a top criterion when surveying investment locations. Where expressways pass through, the potential for the formation of new industrial parks, urban areas and service-trade centres is substantial, generating employment opportunities, raising incomes, and improving living standards for local communities.
From the perspective of localities along the route, comrade Ngo Thi Minh Trinh, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairwoman of the People’s Council of Ea Knuec commune, noted that once completed, the Khanh Hoa - Buon Ma Thuot Expressway will significantly shorten travel time, facilitate the transport of agricultural products to seaports, reduce logistics costs and attract enterprises to invest in deep processing. This, in turn, will help raise value added for local products and support more sustainable economic development.
Beyond economic benefits, the social impacts of these projects are also evident. Improved transport enables people to access healthcare, education and cultural services more easily; distances between regions are narrowed; and employment opportunities are expanded. More importantly, these tangible changes help strengthen public confidence in the Party’s leadership, as resolutions have truly been brought to life.
