Opening new visions

Following the merger, Dak Lak has entered a new development space with a broader scale and room to grow. Built on a foundation of political stability, sustained socio-economic growth, gradually upgraded strategic infrastructure and a clearly defined long-term vision, the province is positioning itself for a strong breakthrough, aiming to become a new growth pole of the South Central Coast and the Central Highlands.

New opportunities on a stable foundation

2025 marks the first year Dak Lak has operated under the new provincial model. Despite considerable challenges arising from the reorganisation of the administrative apparatus and local government units, coupled with the severe impacts of natural disasters and floods on production and people’s livelihoods, the province, with a sense of urgency and determination, has completed a substantial workload, laying an important foundation for the next development phase.

The reorganisation of the administrative system has been implemented in a synchronous and timely manner. Party congresses at all levels following the merger have been closely and systematically guided, while the 1st Congress of Dak Lak provincial Party Organisation for the 2025-2030 tenure was successfully held, affirming the unity in thinking and action and establishing a firm political foundation for the new development journey.

Socio-economic stability has been maintained, with 12 out of 16 key indicators either meeting or exceeding targets and several growth indicators recording positive results. Efforts to improve the investment climate and attract driving projects have been stepped up, gradually reinforcing confidence among the business community and investors in the province’s development prospects.

Simultaneously, a number of major projects and works have been launched or inaugurated in celebration of the 14th National Party Congress. Since the beginning of the year, the province has approved investment policy decisions for 45 projects with total registered capital exceeding 35,538 trillion VND, while adjusting investment policies for 76 others, underscoring the growing appeal of Dak Lak’s investment environment.

Tourism has emerged as a bright spot, with a wide range of cultural, festival and sporting events held vibrantly, attracting large numbers of visitors.

Alongside economic development, social welfare has continued to receive due attention. National defence and security, as well as border sovereignty, have been firmly safeguarded, ensuring a stable environment for sustainable development.

Strategic vision for the next phase

The Resolution of the provincial Party Congress for the 2025-2030 tenure sets the goal of building Dak Lak into a fast-growing, sustainable and civilised province with a strong cultural identity, while identifying four strategic driving forces: human resource development, science and technology advancement, infrastructure improvement, and institutional reform.

According to Deputy Secretary of the provincial Party Committee cum Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Ta Anh Tuan, the coming period will focus on breakthrough areas with strong foundational and spillover effects, with top priority being given to transport infrastructure development. Resources will be concentrated on completing key arterial routes, particularly the East-West expressway axis, connecting seaports and airports and linking with national expressways such as the North–South Expressway and the Buon Ma Thuot-Van Phong route.

Alongside infrastructure development, the province is determined to create institutional breakthroughs, significantly improve the investment climate, accelerate administrative procedure reform, and renew governance thinking towards a service-oriented approach that accompanies and supports businesses. The focus is on attracting large-scale, high-impact driving projects in key pillars such as high-tech agriculture, deep processing industries, renewable energy, logistics and integrated tourism, thereby generating new growth momentum for the economy.

Alternate member of the Party Central Committee and Secretary of the provincial Party Committee Luong Nguyen Minh Triet stressed that, amid the context of the central requirement for double-digit growth, the entire political system of the province must remain united, fully tap potential advantages, leverage the attention and support of central agencies, and secure the companionship of businesses and the people. At the same time, leadership and governance must be renewed in a strong, decisive and coordinated manner to overcome difficulties and successfully achieve the set objectives.
