On February 5, the Steering Committee for Lunar New Year (Tet) Care of Binh Ngo 2026 held a conference to review and give opinions on several issues related to Tet care for the people. The conference was chaired by Luong Nguyen Minh Triet, Member of the Party Central Committee, Provincial Party Secretary and Head of the Steering Committee.

At the conference, the Steering Committee reported on the results of Tet care for policy beneficiaries, poor households and people in difficult circumstances. According to the report, sectors and localities proactively developed plans and organised visits and gift-giving to the right beneficiaries, while the allocation and distribution of Tet gifts were carried out in a timely, open and transparent manner. Work to ensure social security, stabilise the market, maintain security and order, ensure traffic safety, and organise activities celebrating the Party and Spring was implemented in a coordinated manner.

However, some difficulties remain, including slow beneficiary reviews in several localities, limited funding support, and coordination that has yet to be fully synchronised.

At the conference, delegates discussed and contributed opinions to finalise plans for Tet care, ensuring that all beneficiaries, especially vulnerable groups, can celebrate Tet fully, warmly and safely.

In his directive remarks, Luong Nguyen Minh Triet stressed the need to strictly implement the principle of “speaking the truth, acting in earnest, so that the people truly benefit” in Tet care for the Lunar New Year 2026.

He requested that, no later than February 6, localities complete the review of poor and near-poor households in each commune, ward and township, ensuring that each poor and near-poor household receives at least one Tet gift, while paying full attention to vulnerable groups, social assistance beneficiaries and orphans.

The Provincial Party Secretary assigned the provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee to take the lead in mobilising the maximum possible social resources for Tet care for the people, with the allocation and distribution of gifts to be timely, accurate, open and transparent.

The Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism was tasked with directing localities to step up communications and Tet decorations in central areas, schools, parks and public spaces, and to diversify cultural and artistic activities to create a joyful and uplifting atmosphere among the people.

In addition, the distribution of gifts by the provincial Viet Nam Fatherland Front must be completed before February 8, 2026; the second round of payments for households affected by storms and floods in December 2025 must be urgently disbursed before Tet; visits and encouragement should be organised for forces on duty during Tet, patients undergoing treatment, and workers and labourers unable to return home for the holiday.
