According to the provincial Tax Department, state budget revenue in Q1 2026 reached 5.175 trillion VND, fulfilling 28.8% of the estimate approved by Provincial People’s Council and increasing 13.4% year-on-year. The sector proposed a full-year target of 19.694 trillion VND, up 10% compared with 2025, aimed at supporting double-digit economic expansion. However, revenue is projected to face a shortfall of around 1.73 trillion VND due to newly introduced tax exemption and reduction policies.

From the statistics sector, the provincial GRDP growth scenario for 2026 targets 10.02%. Growth in Q1 reached 7.47%, with projections of 10.6% in Q2 and a peak of 11.55% in Q3. Key drivers are expected from industry alongside construction, fuelled by major projects such as phase 1 under Khanh Hoa-Buon Ma Thuot Expressway, Buon Ma Thuot Airport expansion, wind power developments, and large-scale agro-processing plants.

Chairman Do Huu Huy urged departments together with sectors to stay aligned with the growth scenario, ensuring flexible governance by month as well as quarter. He called for faster disbursement, removal of bottlenecks affecting key projects, effective mobilisation of revenue via land auctions and public assets, stronger state management within the mineral sector, along with stricter control over traceability processes for key agricultural exports such as coffee and durian to meet export standards while preventing tax losses, thereby supporting sustainable growth during 2026-2031.

The tax sector was tasked with improving forecasting capacity, promptly advising the PPC on measures to tap remaining revenue sources, while providing maximum support for taxpayers to stabilise production as well as business activities, ensuring sustainable revenue streams.

The PPC Chairman also requested the Department of Agriculture and Environment to strengthen coordination with the Statistics Office, ensuring timely, accurate input data. Wind power projects in Krong Buk must resolve procedural obstacles within Q2. Simultaneously, construction progress under Khanh Hoa-Buon Ma Thuot Expressway together with Buon Ma Thuot Airport expansion must be maintained, as these serve as critical drivers for this year’s growth.
