A launchpad for clean industrial development

Development momentum is spreading strongly across Dak Lak, where industrial infrastructure is being progressively completed in a coordinated manner, creating new attraction for high technology.

Identified as one of the eight key national coastal economic zones, the South Phu Yen Economic Zone is entrusted with the mission of becoming a growth driver for the entire province and the South Central Coast region. With a vision to 2040, the zone is expected to take shape as a multi-sector, multi-field marine economic zone, with high-technology industries, port-linked industries and logistics as its pillars. Beyond being a production space, the South Phu Yen Economic Zone also aims to serve as a trade hub, connecting Dak Lak with domestic and international value chains.

The growing appeal of the South Phu Yen Economic Zone is becoming increasingly evident as a number of large-scale projects are gradually being realised. In the Hoa Tam area, the project for investment in the construction and business of infrastructure for Hoa Tam Industrial Park, Phase 1, is being implemented with a sense of urgency and synchronisation. In parallel, the Bai Goc Port investment and construction project, an important link in the seaport infrastructure chain of the South Phu Yen Economic Zone, is also being accelerated.

Tran Dinh Long, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Hoa Phat Group, shared: “The implementation of projects in the South Phu Yen Economic Zone is intended to realise Hoa Phat’s long-term commitments to the locality. We are accelerating progress and ensuring efficiency, making practical contributions to the province’s development”.

Developing industry in a green and sustainable direction is not only an immediate requirement, but has become a consistent strategic orientation throughout Dak Lak’s industrialisation and modernisation process. Alongside a focus on attracting investment into the South Phu Yen Economic Zone, coordinated investment in infrastructure for industrial parks and clusters is identified as an important “lever”, creating a foundation to attract high-quality investment flows and promote economic restructuring towards higher value-added and environmentally friendly directions.

Among the 22 existing industrial clusters with a total area of more than 1,055 ha, 12 clusters have received partial infrastructure investment with total funding of nearly 338 billion VND. At the industrial park scale, Hoa Phu Industrial Park and industrial parks in the eastern part of the province have been operating effectively, with relatively synchronised technical infrastructure meeting the production requirements of enterprises inside and outside the province.

In line with green industrial development orientation, the province is implementing a number of large-scale industrial park infrastructure projects, moving towards models of ecological, high-technology industrial parks that are energy-efficient, reduce emissions and enhance value chain linkages. This is regarded as an important step in enhancing the competitiveness of Dak Lak’s industry in the new period.

According to Nguyen Thi Thu An, Director of the Department of Industry and Trade, during the 2025-2030 term, the Dak Lak provincial Party Committee has identified the development of key industrial sectors associated with the marine economy, alongside the expansion and development of existing industries under circular economy and green growth models, applying high technology and ensuring environmental friendliness. On this basis, the industry and trade sector has set the objective of strengthening the application of modern technologies, focusing investment on deep processing of key industrial products such as coffee, cashew nuts, pepper, durian, sugarcane, cassava, rubber, timber and seafood. In particular, the province is promoting the development of high-technology industrial parks and processing industrial clusters, boosting goods circulation and logistics, and regarding these as important economic pillars for circular economy development.
