During the days leading up to the Lunar New Year (Tet), Dong Tac fishing port (Phu Yen ward) is becoming more hectic than usual as longline vessels targeting ocean tuna return one after another after extended offshore trips.
Lines of boats dock in succession, their holds full of fish and hulls heavy with the fruits of their labour at sea. Joy is visible on the faces of fishermen, renewing their motivation to continue venturing offshore and preparing for voyages through Tet, carrying hopes for a smooth and favourable new year, calm seas and abundant catches.
