By the end of January 2026, Component Project 2 of Khanh Hoa - Buon Ma Thuot Expressway had completed more than 60% of its total workload.
Specifically, roadbed works are in their final phase, with earth excavation reaching nearly 89% and embankment filling exceeding 90%. Construction units have begun shifting to pavement works, with grade-1 crushed stone base reaching nearly 30% and grade-2 crushed stone base nearly 15%. Fourteen out of 18 underpasses for local traffic have been completed, equivalent to 77.77%.

Notably, excavation has been completed for four mountain tunnels, namely Ea Trang 1, Ea Trang 2, Phuong Hoang and Chu Te, with a combined length of 5,550 m. Contractors are currently concentrating manpower and equipment on concrete lining works and the installation of technical systems.
According to the Railway Project Management Board, the investor of Component Project 2, project implementation has encountered several difficulties and obstacles in site clearance. The investor has therefore proposed that Dak Lak provincial People’s Committee continue to direct relevant agencies to urgently complete the salvage harvesting of natural forests for the additional land area in the section passing through Cu Pui commune. At the same time, decisive and final solutions are requested for outstanding issues at the western portal of the Phuong Hoang Tunnel so that contractors can accelerate progress.
It is known that Component Project 2 of Khanh Hoa - Buon Ma Thuot Expressway Project is approximately 37.5 km in length, running through Khanh Hoa province and Dak Lak province.
The project is under the authority of the Ministry of Construction, with the Railway Project Management Board as the investor. The project is slated for a technical opening on May 19, 2026.
