The Component Project 2, overseen by the Ministry of Construction and managed by the Railway Project Management Board (Ministry of Construction), has reached approximately 65% completion. During a recent working visit to the province, Deputy Prime Minister Ho Quoc Dung requested Dak Lak PPC to direct relevant agencies to urgently complete procedures while encouraging residents to promptly hand over remaining land for Component Projects 2 and 3 within the province, in accordance with Prime Minister’s directives. He also emphasized the need to continue researching as well as implementing rest stops and utilizing intelligent transportation systems to enhance expressway efficiency.

Opening a “Gateway” for expressway connectivity

Along with ongoing project, Dak Lak province has proposed to the Government the investment in the construction of a road project connecting the Khanh Hoa - Buon Ma Thuot Expressway with the East-West road.

According to the proposal, the project has a total length of approximately 5.041 km with a synchronized scale, a roadbed width of 70 m, and a design speed of 80 km/hour. Two prestressed reinforced concrete bridges are planned to be built along the route, crossing the Ea Cuor Kap and Ea Cau lakes. Total estimated investment is roughly 1,700 billion VND, including over 800 billion VND for land acquisition, about 604.5 billion VND for construction and equipment; the remainder is for consulting, management, along with contingency costs. The affected land area totals around 37 hectares, including 153 residential plots (3.92 hectares), 235 agricultural plots (22.5 hectares), and approximately 10.6 hectares for transportation and water bodies; in addition, one school within project area is expected to be relocated.

According to PPC Vice Chairman, comrade Truong Cong Thai, the road will be a driving force for the infrastructure, education, health, and tourism development, promoting investment in the transportation system in the area, in line with the provincial transportation infrastructure development orientation until 2030 approved by the Prime Minister. It will also contribute to directly connecting inter-regional transportation axes, economic-political centers, key economic zones and industrial parks, especially the Central Highlands key economic region. Effectively exploiting logistics services will create a ripple effect, promoting socio-eco development, attracting investment, while contributing to ensuring national security and defense in the province as well as neighboring areas.

Deputy Prime Minister Ho Quoc Dung agreed with the PPC proposal regarding investment in a road connecting the Khanh Hoa - Buon Ma Thuot expressway with the East-West road. The Government will assign the Ministry of Finance to preside over and coordinate with relevant ministries, sectors, together with agencies to research and consider, within its authority, the provincial request for the allocation of the Central Government budget funds to support the project.
