The Provincial Election Committee convened its fifth meeting to implement a number of tasks related to the election of deputies to the 16th National Assembly and deputies to People’s Councils at all levels for the 2026 - 2031 term.
According to reports presented at the meeting, Dak Lak province has actively implemented election preparations for National Assembly deputies and People’s Council deputies at all levels, ensuring compliance with the schedule and legal regulations. The provincial Steering Committee for election work convened its fourth meeting and issued a conclusion notice to provide consistent direction. The provincial People’s Council established 11 supervisory delegations, conducting inspections in 102 communes and wards in order to promptly grasp the situation and address difficulties at grassroots level.

On February 2, 2026, the provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, in coordination with the Standing Committee of the provincial People’s Council, the provincial People’s Committee and relevant agencies, organised the second consultative conference. The conference reached consensus on a preliminary list of 22 candidates for deputies to the 16th National Assembly and 144 candidates for the provincial People’s Council for the 2026 - 2031 term. It also agreed on organising the collection of voters’ comments and confidence assessments at places of residence for the 22 National Assembly candidates and 144 provincial People’s Council candidates from February 4 to 8, 2026.
At commune level, all 102 out of 102 units established a total of 2,112 polling areas and conducted reviews, compilation and public posting of voter lists in accordance with regulations. Election Committees in the 102 communes and wards received 4,629 out of 4,640 application dossiers for candidates to commune-level People’s Councils, which were transferred to the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committees at the same level for introduction at the second consultative conference in line with regulations.
At the meeting, delegates focused discussions on the implementation of election work, communication and outreach, assurance of funding and facilities, maintenance of security, public order and social safety, and other necessary conditions to ensure that the election is conducted democratically, in accordance with regulations, safely and economically.

Addressing at the meeting on February 4, Cao Thi Hoa An, Member of the Party Central Committee, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairwoman of the provincial People’s Council and Chairwoman of the Provincial Election Committee, acknowledged the proactiveness of agencies and units in carrying out tasks to prepare for the election.
She also requested that agencies, organisations and local units continue to uphold a strong sense of responsibility and initiative, closely adhere to assigned tasks, and implement election-related duties with quality, effectiveness and on schedule; regularly inspect, urge implementation, and promptly address difficulties and obstacles, especially those arising at grassroots level, in order to ensure the best possible conditions for the successful organisation of the election.
