Immediately after the Lunar New Year (Tet) holiday for Binh Ngo 2026, alongside the rest of the country, Dak Lak province has continued carrying out as well as completing the remaining steps in preparation for elections of deputies representing the 16th National Assembly, along with those for the People’s Councils at all levels during the 2026 - 2031 tenure, maintaining a proactive spirit while ensuring full compliance with the law.
Compared with previous tenures, elections of deputies representing the National Assembly, along with those for the People’s Councils at all levels in this term, are being held in a context characterised by numerous new factors, particularly regulations concerning the electoral process amid the organisation of a two-tier local government model as well as the implementation of administrative unit mergers.

| Task Force No. 6 under the Provincial Election Steering Committee, together with Delegation No. 6 from the Standing Board at Provincial People’s Council level, headed by comrade Tu Thai Giang - Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee as well as Permanent Vice Chairman at Provincial People’s Council level conducting an inspection regarding preparations for the elections in Ea Ktur commune. |
Against this backdrop, to ensure both the success and quality of the polls, the entire provincial political system has swiftly mobilised and deployed synchronised, unified measures from the provincial tier down through 102 communes and wards, thereby guaranteeing strict compliance with procedures, with several tasks undertaken proactively ahead of schedule. The provincial Election Steering Committee has allocated duties according to clearly defined timelines and specific responsibilities. Across the province, 2,112 polling stations have received approval, while 2,111 election teams have been set up; all communes and wards have worked in coordination with the police force to review, compile, then publicly post voter lists in line with the stipulated timeframe.
In addition, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee at provincial level, alongside its counterparts in communes and wards, has fully exercised its central role throughout the consultative rounds. During the provincial third consultative conference, delegates undertook a comprehensive review covering criteria, structure as well as composition, subsequently reaching consensus by vote on a list comprising 19 eligible nominees put forward as candidates for the 16th National Assembly, together with 141 qualified individuals standing for the Provincial People’s Council during the 2026 - 2031 tenure.
The province has likewise organised professional training while intensifying communications activities regarding the elections. Training sessions were conducted at an early stage, in combination with online conferences extending down through the grassroots level, thereby attracting a substantial number of participants. The programme concentrated on consultative procedures, voter-list compilation, polling organisation, contingency handling, in addition to the application of software supporting the electoral process.
In particular, the Standing Board at Provincial People’s Council level has set up 11 supervisory delegations tasked with directly monitoring progress as well as inspecting preparations throughout 102 communes and wards, promptly issuing reminders while rectifying matters requiring further refinement, thereby securing consistency during implementation.
Through decisive, rigorous plus proactive direction and guidance at provincial tier, combined with meticulous attention within each commune and ward, Dak lak is actively gearing up for the elections in a clearly defined spirit: undertaking early preparations in order to avoid passivity; proceeding cautiously so as to prevent errors; sustaining unity alongside smooth coordination across the political system; fostering public consensus, thereby enabling March 15 to truly stand as a festival symbolising trust together with civic responsibility province-wide.
