Expectations for people-centred, action-oriented programmes

Voter meetings are not only occasion for candidates for the National Assembly and People’s Councils at all levels to present their action programmes, but also opportunities for voters to place their trust in capable and responsible representatives.

Observations from the meetings show that the atmosphere of democracy and responsibility has been strongly promoted. Carefully prepared action programmes that reflect local realities have further strengthened public confidence in a new tenure expected to bring renewal and breakthroughs.

Breakthroughs from thinking to action

To achieve the ambitious growth target of nearly 11% annually during the 2026 - 2031 period, the action programmes demonstrate a strong breakthrough in strategic vision.

A key highlight is the approach of placing people at the centre of all policies. Candidates pledged to act as bridges linking local realities with national-level policy making. In particular, research and proposals aimed at removing bottlenecks in mechanisms, resources together with administrative procedures are given top priority so that policies can deliver tangible benefits to the people.

In economic development, innovative thinking is reflected in the shift from supplying raw materials to deep processing. Candidates also emphasised that Dak Lak should not remain merely a production hub for agricultural and aquatic products but must develop high-tech agriculture and deep processing industries such as coffee, durian and aquatic products, associated with green industrial parks and open economic zones.

In addition, land management and use, one of the province’s major bottlenecks, has been included in action programmes with commitments to resolve long-standing issues, particularly land originating from state-run agricultural and forestry enterprises. In planning and urban management, candidates emphasised the need to complete the system of legal normative documents on construction and architecture, linked with the goal of developing social housing.

Simultaneously, digital transformation has been identified as a key driver of change. Candidates proposed building shared digital databases to enable real-time social management and reduce cumbersome administrative procedures.

Trust in the spirit of turning words into action

What voters are particularly concerned about is the responsibility to set an example and mechanisms to supervise the implementation of campaign commitments after the election.

As a regular participant in voter meetings in the locality, Mr. Tran Xuan Dinh, a resident of Buon Ma Thuot ward, noted that the atmosphere at these meetings has been highly democratic and open. He appreciated that candidates had developed very specific action programmes closely aligned with pressing livelihood issues. These commitments, he said, demonstrate not only each candidate’s sense of responsibility and aspiration to contribute but also receive strong consensus and trust from voters. He said this year’s candidates possess both integrity as well as capability are worthy of representing the people and expects those elected to maintain close ties with grassroots communities.

Mr. Vo Tan Bang, a resident of Song Cau ward, said that the candidate composition this time is well balanced, combining experience with dynamism and enthusiasm. He was particularly impressed by the high level of professional qualifications, with many candidates holding doctoral degrees and possessing extensive work experience. He also noted that the programmes clearly outline orientations for sustainable socio-eco development and pay attention to narrowing disparities among regions.

The close attention and engagement of voters at these meetings not only affirm the spirit of democracy but also reflect strong trust and expectations placed in elected representatives who remain close to the people, understand their concerns and act decisively for the sustainable development of localities as well as the country.
