Dak Lak striving to achieve economic growth of 10% or higher in the second quarter of 2026

On April 7 afternoon, the PPC Dak Lak held its regular meeting assessing implementation of the socio-eco development plan, along with national defence and security tasks in Q1, while outlining key priorities for Q2 2026. The conference was conducted online, linking 102 communes and wards province-wide.

According to the report presented, despite various fluctuations, the provincial economy maintained stable momentum in Q1 2026, with several indicators posting positive results. Specifically, GRDP growth was estimated at 7.47%. Economic scale continued expanding, with GRDP at current prices reaching around 45.569 trillion VND, up 10.79% year-on-year.

Most economic sectors recorded growth compared to the same period. Several areas saw strong expansion, including total retail sales and consumer service revenue exceeding 50.888 trillion VND, up 14.1% year-on-year; tourism welcoming about 2.3 million visitors, rising 24.4%, with revenue reaching 4.12 trillion VND, up 25.4%; export turnover estimated at 700 million US$, increasing 5.04%. Total state budget revenue surpassed the planned scenario, reaching 5.057 trillion VND, equivalent to 27.9% of the annual estimate.

Cultural alongside social sectors continued receiving attention, while social welfare was ensured. National defence, security, and social order remained stable.

However, Q1 GRDP growth still fell short of the target scenario of 9.97%. Public investment disbursement, as of April 1, reached only 5.55% of the plan. Production and business activities continued to faced difficulties due to rising raw material as well as fuel costs, leading to a 183% increase in dissolved enterprises compared with the same period last year.

To achieve the full-year growth target of 10% or higher in 2026, the PPC has instructed sectors and localities to accelerate key tasks in Q2. Priority will be given to speeding up construction progress along with capital disbursement for strategic infrastructure projects such as Khanh Hoa - Buon Ma Thuot Expressway, the eastern North-South Expressway section passing through the province, as well as preparing procedures for the high-speed railway project. The Department of Agriculture and Environment is tasked with proactively guiding farmers in drought prevention measures and tightening management of planting area codes serving key agricultural exports. Simultaneously, the province will prioritise administrative reform, digital transformation, and improvements in handling administrative procedures to promptly remove difficulties for enterprises.

Addressing the meeting, PPC Chairman, comrade Do Huu Huy stressed that tasks for Q2 are particularly demanding amid ongoing global uncertainties. Rising production costs, especially fuel prices, are exerting pressure on goods prices together with the consumer price index, while the province must still achieve growth of 10% or more.

He emphasised that all levels together with sectors must demonstrate stronger determination, more decisive action, and more effective, synchronised implementation, avoiding complacency or delays. Departments, sectors, along with localities were requested to urgently review assigned targets, closely follow the growth scenario, and promptly address shortcomings from Q1, particularly in low-growth sectors, slow public investment disbursement, as well as prolonged project bottlenecks. Heads of agencies must take direct responsibility and remain accountable to the PPC for implementation outcomes.
