Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism has recently held a conference reviewing results from the familiarisation alongside experiential programme “Dak Lak - Journey to Heritage”.
The event drew more than 100 delegates, including representatives from travel companies, tourism enterprises, journalists, KOLs together with KOCs, participating in site inspections alongside hands-on experiences at destinations, new tourism products organised by Provincial Culture and Tourism Centre from April 1-3. Most participants gave highly positive feedback on the journey.

The delegation conducted field surveys and directly experiencing a diverse range of activities, including incense offering at the Special National Relic Buon Ma Thuot Prison; visits to Ako Dhong Village along with the World Coffee Museum; exploration of traditional wooden sculpture art combined with Central Highlands gong performances at Ede stilt-house space in Ko Tam Tourism Area (Tan Lap ward); surveys of M’nong traditional pottery in Yang Tao as well as visit to Elephant Rock Mountain in Lien Son Lak commune. In addition, the group visited the historical site of CADA plantation (Krong Pac commune), Truc Lam Zen Monastery (Tuy An Nam commune), experienced coral viewing at Hon Yen (O Loan commune). The delegation also sampled signature dishes alongside beverages contributing to Dak Lak tourism identity.
At the conference, delegates discussed and proposed numerous ideas for further refinement of tourism products, especially those closely associated with local heritage together with ecological strengths in coming period.
Representatives from enterprises together with members of survey delegation noted destinations along “Dak Lak - Journey to Heritage” route not only feature majestic natural landscapes but also embody profound indigenous cultural values.
The Combination of hands-on experiences, such as basket-boat rides for coral viewing at Hon Yen or wood carving at Ko Tam Tourism Area, has created a diverse service chain capable of attracting both domestic and international visitors.
However, participants also recommended that the tourism sector should prioritise synchronising transport infrastructure alongside improving interpretation skills at heritage sites to further elevate Dak Lak tourism.

Addressing the conference, Mr. Le Phuc Long, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, highly appreciated active participation from delegation, affirming this familiarisation programme serves as an important basis for restructuring key tourism products. Notably, the programme successfully connected heritage sites from Central Highlands of Dak Lak down to provincial eastern coastal area, creating a seamless “from forest to sea” journey.
