On the morning of September 2, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism held Tuy Hoa Run 2026, themed “Welcoming the Sunrise by the Sea”, at Nghinh Phong Square in Tuy Hoa Ward.

Provincial leaders and nearly 3,000 athletes taking part in the “Welcoming the Sunrise by the Sea” Run

Provincial leaders, representatives of departments, agencies and localities joined the launch and accompanied more than 3,000 athletes participating in the event.

Starting at 4 a.m., nearly 3,000 athletes competed in 5km, 10km and 21km (Half Marathon) races. The 5km category drew 510 participants, while 589 athletes competed in the 10km race and 869 in the 21km event. An impressive route stretching along Tuy Hoa’s coastline generated excitement among runners.

At the closing ceremony, the organising committee presented prizes to athletes with outstanding performances in various categories, as well as awards to top finishers in different age groups.

Tuy Hoa Run 2026, themed “Welcoming the Sunrise by the Sea”, not only provides a healthy sporting platform and encourages people to exercise in line with President Ho Chi Minh’s example, but also serves as an opportunity to promote Dak Lak’s scenic landscapes, cultural heritage and warm hospitality to domestic and international visitors.

The event was organised to mark the 81st anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (September 2, 1945-2026), as well as the 81st Traditional Day of the Culture Sector (August 28, 1945-2026). It also formed a key highlight of the 2026 Dak Lak Durian Festival.
