In the economic sphere, growth has continued to be sustained amid extremely challenging conditions. A particularly notable highlight was in 2022, immediately after the pandemic, when GDP growth exceeded 8 percent, placing Vietnam among the world’s fastest-growing economies. In the following years, despite the global economic slowdown, the country has maintained a positive recovery momentum. Inflation has been kept under control, public debt has remained within safe limits, and the investment climate has continued to improve, enabling Vietnam to remain among the world’s top 20 economies in attracting foreign direct investment (FDI).

Alongside economic development, the determination to reform and streamline the political system has been implemented in a comprehensive and resolute manner, yielding many significant results. The reorganisation of administrative units, the restructuring of local governments under a two-tier model, and staff downsizing are not merely technical measures, but strategic steps aimed at building a lean, effective and efficient state apparatus capable of meeting the requirements of national governance in the new period. These achievements have not only enhanced the effectiveness of administration and social management, but have also strengthened public trust, elevated Vietnam’s international standing and credibility, and laid a solid foundation for the country’s next stage of development.

With the theme "Under the glorious flag of the Party, joining forces and acting in unity to successfully realise the country’s development goals through 2030; upholding strategic autonomy, self-reliance, confidence and determination to advance strongly in the era of national rise for peace, independence, democracy, strength, prosperity, civilisation and happiness, and steadfastly progressing towards socialism", the 14th National Party Congress clearly affirms its particularly important position and role, bearing turning-point significance and historic stature for the nation’s development. The Congress continues to underscore that the aspiration for national rise is a powerful driving force, crystallised from the spirit of self-reliance and self-strengthening, patriotism, and the desire to contribute of every citizen, all directed towards the goal of building a strong, rapidly and sustainably developing Vietnam, for the happiness of the people in the era of digital transformation and global integration.

According to comrade Luong Nguyen Minh Triet, alternate member of the Party Central Committee and Secretary of the Dak Lak Provincial Party Committee, the 14th National Party Congress holds special significance in the country’s new stage of development, as demands for higher-quality growth, more effective governance and sustainable development continue to rise. For Dak Lak Province, the 14th National Party Congress is not only of overarching strategic significance but also serves as an important political foundation for the province to refine its long-term development vision in line with practical realities, particularly in the context of expanding multi-regional development space following administrative consolidation. The Congress’s major orientations help shape an integrated development model that ensures harmonious linkages between the Central Highlands and the coastal-oriented development space, thereby expanding development potential and strengthening regional connectivity.

Sharing confidence from the perspective of who has lived through many pivotal chapters of history, comrade Ho Dac Thanh, a Hero of the People’s Armed Forces and a Party member with 71 years of standing, expressed his hope to witness a Vietnam that is not only prosperous and strong but also civilised and compassionate, where every citizen can proudly say: “My country is growing stronger with each passing day.” Comrade Ho Dac Thanh belief that, tempered through countless hardships, the Communist Party of Vietnam will continue to lead the nation into a new stage of development with greater strength and confidence.
