Amid the stirring atmosphere of the historic days in March, on March 15, more than 2.2 million voters across Dak Lak Province eagerly exercised civic rights as well as obligations.
Confidence rooted in renewal
This year’s election carries special significance as it marks the first occasion voters in Dak Lak Province cast ballots following the provincial merger and implementation of the two-tier local government model.
Comrade Luong Nguyen Minh Triet, a member of the Central Committee within the Communist Party of Vietnam, Secretary of the Dak Lak Provincial Party Committee plus Head of the Provincial Steering Committee for Election Affairs, emphasised that the election represents a major political event through which citizens express trust in the new administrative apparatus. The selection of commune-level representatives requires careful evaluation, he noted, since authority and the scope of grassroots activities have become far broader and more diverse than previously.
According to observations, voters across the province have shown particular interest in candidate biographies and action programmes. Candidate quality has been assessed at a higher level regarding standards as well as qualifications, while their action programmes demonstrate strong determination to realise breakthrough socio-eco goals, closely aligned with central orientations alongside local authorities during the new stage of development.

Each ballot represents a message of trust and expectation. Mr. Nguyen Van Khanh, a voter in the flood-prone “epicentre” area of Hoa Thinh, shared: “People’s livelihoods have gradually recovered after the historic flood in late November 2025. On this great national election day, local residents are cheerful as well as enthusiastic about going to the polls. This time, the candidate structure includes many younger representatives. I hope and place my trust in those elected to continue contributing, supporting citizens and helping advance both the nation alongside the locality”.
Ballots also carry heartfelt aspirations from ethnic minority communities across Dak Lak Province. Village elder Y Buol Nie (commonly known as Ae Quan), a voter in Ea Tul Commune, expressed the hope that once elected, representatives will remain close to residents, pay greater attention toward supporting economic development, invest in transport infrastructure, improve school facilities for children in remote areas, and preserve as well as promote traditional cultural values, etc.
The hallmark of a special election
PProactive and thorough preparations from provincial authorities down to grassroots levels generated strong momentum for election day. A day earlier, the festive spirit of the nationwide election had already spread through 11 early voting stations within the armed forces. By March 15, voters across Dak Lak Province officially headed to the polls, choosing individuals recognised for both integrity and capability as their representatives.
Evaluating the success of the election, comrade Cao Thi Hoa An, member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairwoman of the Provincial People’s Council as well as Chairwoman of the Provincial Election Committee affirmed that the event truly became a nationwide festival where public trust alongside democratic spirit were expressed most vividly.

“This figure is not merely an administrative outcome but a testament to solidarity and the shared commitment among ethnic communities across the province. Voters turned out enthusiastically at polling stations, expressing steadfast confidence in the future as well as in the representatives they selected to carry their aspirations”, shared comrade Cao Thi Hoa An.
