Dak Lak strengthens bilateral cooperation with South Korean localities

Dak Lak PPC Vice Chairman, comrade Truong Cong Thai recently received and held a working session with a delegation from the Happiness Area Development Foundation (FAD) of South Korea, led by Chairman, Mr. Mun Huyn, for discussions on expanding partnerships between Dak Lak together with localities in the Republic of South Korea.

During the working session, both sides exchanged views on cooperation programmes linking Dak Lak with South Korean localities, labour collaboration opportunities, cultural exchange initiatives, investment promotion activities, along with other areas of cooperation aligned with FAD’s functions and activities.

Vice Chairman, comrade Truong Cong Thai highlighted Dak Lak’s considerable potential across agriculture, renewable energy, processing industries combined with logistics. With an expanded development space and a coastline stretching approximately 190 kilometres, the province is well positioned for deep-water seaport development, heavy industry alongside modern logistics services.

Provincial leaders noted that partnerships linking Dak Lak with South Korean localities have been sustained for nearly two decades across multiple sectors, including economic development, culture, education and workforce cooperation. Each year, many local workers travel to South Korea through seasonal employment schemes along with long-term contracts. Meanwhile, a range of the provincial flagship agricultural products, particularly coffee, are exported to this market.

The PPC Vice Chairman expressed hope that FAD would further strengthen its role as a connector by introducing South Korean corporations and enterprises interested in exploring opportunities in Dak Lak, especially across renewable energy, petrochemical refining, seaport infrastructure combined with logistics services.

For his part, Mr. Mun Huyn highly appreciated Dak Lak’s development potential and acknowledged positive outcomes achieved through workforce cooperation programmes involving the province, South Korean local authorities along with businesses. He revealed that South Korea is considering broader labour and employment partnership models with Vietnam. He also reaffirmed FAD’s willingness to serve as a key facilitator in promoting Dak Lak’s image coupled with investment potential, while advancing economic and cultural exchanges as well as fostering stronger investment ties among local authorities and enterprises from both countries in the years ahead.
