Expanding cooperation between Dak Lak and Mondulkiri

The Forum on Promoting Economic and Trade Cooperation between enterprises from Dak Lak together with Mondulkiri province, Kingdom of Cambodia, was recently convened in Mondulkiri, bringing together more than 100 businesses from both localities. Beyond opening up opportunities to strengthen investment and trade linkages, the forum reaffirmed the determination of both provincial leaders to effectively harness their respective potentials as well as strengths, fostering sustainable development through deeper collaboration.

Connecting potentials, expanding investment opportunities

Over recent years, bilateral friendship and cooperation between Dak Lak coupled with Mondulkiri have steadily expanded across multiple sectors. Building on this foundation, the forum created a platform for government agencies, organisations and business communities from both provinces to strengthen connectivity alongside explore new cooperation opportunities.

Addressing the forum, Dak Lak PPC Vice Chairman, comrade Nguyen Thien Van emphasised that the event enabled enterprises from both sides to exchange information, gain deeper insights into respective strengths, investment demands and cooperation potential while accessing investment support policies, identifying business partners and expanding markets. Dak Lak along with Mondulkiri possess complementary advantages in agriculture, agro-processing, trade, logistics, tourism as well as border trade, creating favourable conditions to advance investment, production and commercial collaboration.

Mr. Kong Kimny, Governor of Mondulkiri province, said the forum represented an important opportunity for specialised agencies, enterprises combined with investors from both localities to strengthen exchanges while identifying novel directions for investment and trade cooperation.

"Mondulkiri hopes that enterprises from both provinces will not only develop raw material areas but also invest in local processing facilities to enhance product value and generate employment opportunities for local communities. We remain committed to creating the most favourable conditions for businesses, accompanying them throughout project execution, while resolving any emerging difficulties", he said.

Turning cooperation opportunities into reality

A key highlight of the forum was the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between the Dak Lak Business Association and its Mondulkiri counterpart, aimed at strengthening information exchange, promoting investment alongside trade, and supporting enterprises in identifying potential partners.

In addition, Dak Lak Rubber JSC together with PSP Rubber Import Export Co., Ltd., of Mondulkiri, signed an MoU on business cooperation.

According to Mr. Le Duc Huy, Chairman of the Members' Council of September 2 Dak Lak Import-Export One Member Co., Ltd. (Simexco Daklak), the company is interested in expanding raw material sourcing for coffee, pepper, cocoa and rubber, while exploring investment opportunities in agricultural processing facilities in Mondulkiri. He emphasised that Dak Lak's increasingly developed transport infrastructure would further facilitate connectivity, logistics and agricultural trade between both provinces.

Backed by strong commitments from the leaders of both provinces alongside the proactive engagement of their business communities, the forum’s outcomes are expected to be translated into tangible cooperation programmes coupled with projects in the near future. These initiatives will contribute to the socio-eco development of both localities while further strengthening the friendship between Dak Lak and Mondulkiri.
