On September 16-17, in Senmonorom City, Mondulkiri Province, Cambodia, Dak Lak and Mondulkiri Provincial Specialised Committees held talks on carrying out   the search, collection alongside repatriation of remains belonging to Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and experts who died in Cambodia during various periods of war.

The talks were co-chaired by comrade Dao My, Dak Lak PPC Vice Chairman and Head of the Dak Lak Provincial Specialised Committee, along with Ms. Keo Sa Vuon, Vice Governor of Mondulkiri Province and Head of the Mondulkiri Provincial Specialised Committee.

At the talks, the Dak Lak Provincial Specialised Committee highly appreciated the responsible, compassionate cooperation from its Mondulkiri counterpart, authorities at all levels, armed forces together with local residents, which enabled Team K51 under the Provincial Military Command to search for and collect 27 Vietnamese war martyrs’ remains during the 2025-2026 dry season. To ensure smooth implementation combined with better results in the search and collection of martyrs’ remains during the 2026-2027 dry season, the Dak Lak Provincial Specialised Committee asked Mondulkiri authorities coupled with armed forces to continue providing support and strengthening coordination. It also called for intensified information dissemination alongside public outreach, encouraging local residents to provide information about Vietnamese martyrs’ graves; regular direction in establishing information channels that extend search coupled with collection activities to communes, phum and soc; as well as personnel support for Team K51 in carrying out its mission.

The Mondulkiri Provincial Specialised Committee expressed strong support, stressing that the effort represents both a responsibility along with a profound humanitarian significance, enabling Mondulkiri Province and Cambodia as a whole to express gratitude for as well as remember the contributions and sacrifices made by Vietnamese volunteer soldiers together with experts who helped Cambodia during various periods of war. Authorities, armed forces and residents of Mondulkiri Province pledged continued support alongside favourable conditions so that Team K51 can access more sources of information and deploy teams to local areas to search for as well as collect the remains of Vietnamese war martyrs. They also expressed their wish for the remains of Vietnamese martyrs to be repatriated at the earliest possible time.
