On the evening of September 19, at Ia Lop Primary and Lower Secondary Boarding School, the provincial Border Guard Command, in coordination with the provincial Women’s Union, Ia Lop Commune People’s Committee along with sponsors, organised the 2026 “Borderland - Full Moon Festival” programme.

Amid the festive atmosphere, students enjoyed a range of cultural and artistic activities. Music together with dance performances, martial arts demonstrations, lion dances, lantern processions and the traditional Mid-Autumn feast brought the children a joyful as well as warm celebration, while contributing to the preservation and promotion of traditional cultural values.

At the programme, Provincial Party Secretary Luong Nguyen Minh Triet presented 10 scholarships to students facing difficult circumstances and 100 million VND in funding from the Standing Board of the Provincial Party Committee to support the construction of a house for a disadvantaged household in Ia Lop Commune.

Also at the programme, the organising committee presented 10 livelihood support models, one “Borderland Shelter” house, 10 bicycles, 10 scholarships and 890 gifts to disadvantaged coupled with orphaned students, high-achieving students, as well as those from families facing difficulties. The organising committee also presented Letters of Commendation to students supported under the “Supporting Children to School” programme who had achieved outstanding academic and personal development outcomes.

The gifts, scholarships combined with livelihood support models not only provide material assistance but also demonstrate the care and solidarity of Party committees, authorities, armed forces, organisations alongside individuals for people and students in border areas.

The “Borderland - Full Moon Festival” is a meaningful activity that provides children in border areas with a space for recreation and a joyful, fulfilling Mid-Autumn Festival. It also encourages them to continue striving in their studies and personal development, while strengthening military-civilian solidarity and build an increasingly strong all-people border defence posture.
