Settling down in the flood-affected area

In the vibrant spring season, in a land once battered by natural disasters, the joy of settling down is evident in the eyes and smiles of the people in the Eastern part of Dak Lak province. From the “Quang Trung Campaign”, the sturdy new houses not only provide shelter but also open up livelihoods and rekindle hope for a gradual revival of life.

The villages that suffered heavy damage in Son Hoa, Hoa Thinh, Dong Xuan, etc. are more vibrant with laughter in the warm, compassionate homes that were completed just before the New Year. For the people in the flood-affected areas, this spring brings not only flowers and fruits, but also a sense of peace as they have a place to shelter from the rain and wind, a safe place to entrust their hopes for tomorrow.

Lieutenant General Le Ngoc Hai, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Commander of Military Region 5, emphasized, “Implementing the Quang Trung Campaign is not only a political task but also a command from the heart. The Campaign is vivid evidence of the spirit of solidarity and compassion.”

Rebuilding livelihoods, fostering hope

The Quang Trung Campaign went beyond simply providing homes; it also opened up a journey of rebuilding lives for people in disaster-stricken areas. In their new homes, life is gradually returning: fields and gardens are being renovated, green fields are being regenerated, and livestock are being gradually rebuilt. With stable housing, people are more confident in their work and boldly invest in production.

Mr. Vo Trong Dang from Phu Huu village (Hoa Thinh commune) said that on the day he received the keys to his new house, his joy was multiplied when his family also received support in the form of rice seeds to restore production. “Having a house and receiving additional support in the form of rice seeds is like having extra strength. My family went to the fields to sow seeds with joy that we haven't felt in a long time,” Mr. Dang said, his eyes shining with hope.

According to Mr. Ta Anh Tuan, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee, the “Quang Trung Campaign” in the province has been completed and exceeded initial expectations. The Campaign was conducted under urgent conditions and a emergency time frame, but the province determined that it had to be carried out properly, targeting the right beneficiaries, meeting the correct standards, and ensuring long-term safety for the people. Each completed house underwent strict inspection and supervision, and was linked to a review of each household’s production and livelihood needs to provide appropriate support in the next phase.

Box: “The houses completed before the New Year not only solve immediate housing problems but also provide a source of moral support, helping people feel secure in stabilizing their lives, gradually restoring their livelihoods, and having confidence in the future. The revived homes are vivid proof of the province's commitment - to matching words with actions, so that the people’s trust continues to be nurtured and spread,” said Mr. Luong Nguyen Minh Triet, Member of the Central Committee of the Party, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee.
