Tourism stimulus programme for April 30 - May 1 holiday

Dak Lak is set to organise a series of cultural, sports and tourism activities during the April 30 - May 1 holiday to promote its image as well as honour the eco-cultural value of ocean tuna.

A highlight is the art programme themed “Dak Lak Tuna - Essence of the Golden longline”, depicting the journey of people shaping and expanding livelihoods, from early settlement along with community formation to the liberation of the South and national reunification in 1975, which ushered in today’s era of peace alongside development.

The programme will take place at 20:00 on April 30 at Phu Yen Square, Tuy Hoa ward, combining music, dance, lighting, 3D mapping projection technology as well as modern stage effects.

Besides, the culinary and coastal cultural experience space features activities including tuna displays, live processing demonstrations as well as introduction of coastal cuisine. Visitors can watch tuna processing demonstrations, explore regional seafood dishes, and learn about local specialties, tourism potential along with the eco-cultural-culinary value of ocean tuna.

Through these activities, visitors will gain deeper insight into tuna fishing, fishermen’s maritime culture and value chain of ocean tuna industry. They also reflect strength of the newly merged province, where coastal identity converges with highland characteristics. Thereby, contributing to building Dak Lak Tuna brand as a symbol of sustainable marine economic development while enhancing the position of Vietnam’s seafood industry. Activities will run from April 30 to May 3 at Phu Yen Square.

Moreover, the “Conquering Da Bia Mountain - Sky Run” will attract around 800 athletes to climb Da Bia Mountain, promoting natural landscapes and local tourism potential while encouraging physical fitness. The event is scheduled for 07:00 on May 3 in Hoa Xuan commune.

Comrade Tran Hong Tien, Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, said the tourism stimulus programme is organised to mark major national holidays, affirm development achievements in peacetime while highlighting the people’s role in shaping and mastering new economic spaces. It also promotes Dak Lak’s coastal image associated with ocean tuna alongside distinctive cultural - labour values of local fishermen, attract visitors, stimulate tourism demand, along with support sustainable development, thereby strengthening Dak Lak’s identity as a destination capable of offering distinctive experiences.
