Delivering opening remarks, PPC Vice Chairman, comrade Nguyen Thien Van said that environmental protection combined with biodiversity conservation have consistently remained priorities for Party committees, authorities, the Vietnam Fatherland Front together with socio-political organisations across the province. Numerous practical initiatives have been implemented on a broad scale, contributing to significant improvements in both urban and rural landscapes towards a more civilised, green, clean as well as beautiful environment.

To implement the plan of mobilising public participation in environmental protection, waste reduction and waste sorting at source, the PPC has launched a province-wide peak campaign themed “Joining hands to clean the environment”.

Comrade Nguyen Thien Van called on all levels of government, sectors, localities together with residents to focus on cleaning up coastal areas, eliminating pollution hotspots, promoting green transition and circular economy, honouring initiatives while spreading positive actions in environmental protection.

At the ceremony, the PPC presented the first Provincial Environmental Awards to seven organisations coupled with individuals while officially launching the second edition of the awards.

Residents were encouraged to bring hazardous alongside electronic waste for exchange, receiving gifts such as plants, reusable mesh shopping bags, fruit tree seedlings and insulated water bottles.

In response to the PPC’s call, all 102 communes together with wards across the province simultaneously launched environmental clean-up campaigns after the ceremony, aiming to completely remove illegal dumping sites and strengthen inspection as well as monitoring efforts to prevent the recurrence of pollution caused by accumulated waste.
