On the evening of September 2, Phu Yen Square in Tuy Hoa Ward hosted a special art programme organised by the 2026 Dak Lak Durian Festival Organising Committee to celebrate the 81st anniversary of the August Revolution and Vietnam’s National Day (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2026), while reviewing the festival’s activities and achievements.

Running from August 15 to September 2, the 2026 Dak Lak Durian Festival featured 18 major activities alongside more than 40 supporting events across communes and wards province-wide. Built around connections among agriculture, trade, tourism, culture combined with media, the festival helped raise the profile of Dak Lak durians in domestic and international markets.

The festival was estimated to have welcomed 750,000 visitors, while tourism service revenue surpassed 1,295 billion VND during the event. Three records were established, including a Guinness World Record for “The world’s longest parade of durian-carrying pickup trucks”, along with two Vietnam Records recognising “The largest durian basket model in Vietnam” and an event featuring the preparation as well as public presentation of 102 durian-based dishes. Around 600 tonnes of durians were sold during the festival, generating in approximately 44 billion VND. At the Forum on Connecting Durian Consumption, nine memoranda of understanding were signed, promoting value-chain development across the durian sector with a combined value approaching 9 trillion VND.

Across digital platforms, more than 11,000 news reports and articles from 48 press agencies, alongside content produced by 50 domestic coupled with international KOLs, highlighted the the 2026 Dak Lak Durian Festival. Related content generated more than 64 million social media views, while Google recorded over five million search outcomes linked to the festival and Dak Lak durians.

At the programme, PPC Vice Chairman, comrade Dao My along with PPC Vice Chairman, comrade Y Nhuan Bya presented certificates of merit from the Provincial People’s Committee Chairman to 20 collectives for their outstanding contributions to sponsoring and organising the 2026 Dak Lak Durian Festival. The Organising Committee also announced “H’Rieng” as the official name of the festival mascot.

The closing segment featured an artistic programme tracing the struggle for national independence, highlighting revolutionary movements in Phu Yen and Dak Lak in 1945. It also portrayed the vitality of the homeland amid peace, renewal along with international integration, expressing aspirations for a dynamic, innovative, globally connected Dak Lak joining the nation in building a strong, prosperous Vietnam.
