The 2026-2027 academic year opening ceremony, combined with the inauguration of Ea Rok Primary and Lower Secondary Boarding School in Ea Rok Commune, was held in a solemn ceremony on the morning of September 5.

The newly built school in Ea Rok border area is a significant project covering 6.01 hectares, with total investment reaching 150 billion VND. Construction was undertaken by 789 Corporation under the Ministry of National Defence.

The facility was built as an integrated complex featuring a main administration building, primary and lower secondary school  blocks, a dining hall, boarding facilities for teachers coupled with students, a multi-purpose sports hall, alongside modern landscaping and technical infrastructure.

General Nguyen Tan Cuong, Member of the Party Central Committee, Standing Member of the Central Military Commission, Chief of the General Staff of the Viet Nam People’s Army and Deputy Minister of National Defence, along with comrade Cao Thi Hoa An, Member of the Party Central Committee, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairwoman of the Provincial People’s Council, presenting gifts to students facing difficult circumstances.

For the 2026-2027 academic year, 525 students are enrolled, including 150 semi-boarding students alongside 375 boarders. Most come from ethnic minority students from poor or near-poor households, as well as families facing difficult circumstances.

At the ceremony, delegates cut the ribbon, officially inaugurating the school into operation. Putting the facility into operation will provide students in the border area with improved conditions for learning, living and personal development, helping raise education quality while providing greater support for young people in this disadvantaged locality.

On the occasion, General Nguyen Tan Cuong, provincial leaders, the Central Military Commission, Military Region 5 and Army Corps 15 presented flowers as well as gifts to students and school representatives. The Ministry of National Defence, alongside Agribank’s Ea Rok Branch, also presented gifts along with scholarships to students facing difficult circumstances.

Following the ceremony, delegates, teachers and students planted commemorative trees, contributing to a greener, cleaner, more attractive school environment. The activity also conveyed a message linking “tree planting” with “cultivating people”, reflecting hopes that Ea Rok’s younger generation will strive for academic excellence, strengthen character as well as grow into steadfast “living landmarks” safeguarding the border while contributing to a more prosperous homeland in the border region.
