Ea Knuec Commune has launched a series of activities in response to the 2026 Dak Lak Durian Festival, themed “Ea Knuec in Season”.

Ea Knuec is one of Dak Lak’s key durian-growing areas, covering nearly 6,000 ha, with more than 2,800 ha currently in harvest. Output is expected to exceed 70,000 tonnes, generating economic value of approximately 2.85 trillion VND. In recent years, the locality has focused on establishing growing area codes, packing facilities and traceability systems, while promoting production linkages to enhance the value and sustainability of its key agricultural sector.

At “Ea Knuec in Season”, residents and visitors can immerse themselves in a rich cultural space reflecting the distinctive identities of local ethnic communities. The event celebrates the value of durian, OCOP products and local cuisine, while providing a platform for cultural exchange, trade promotion and tourism development, and promoting the image of Ea Knuec and its friendly, hospitable people to visitors from near and far.

On this occasion, the locality officially unveiled the collective trademark “Ea Knuec Durian”. The trademark was successfully registered and announced on April 17, 2026, affirming the reputation and quality of the local agricultural product and laying a foundation for its sustainable development.

As part of the programme, the Organising Committee acknowledged sponsors for their support of social welfare activities worth more than 393 million VND in total.

A highlight of the event series was the procession of the “Durian Queen”. The procession, featuring two elephants, a palanquin carrying durian and a gong ensemble, travelled from the site of the ancient durian tree to the opening ceremony venue, where a traditional E De ritual praying for prosperity a bountiful durian harvest was performed.

Other activities included durian orchard tours and experiences featuring ancient trees; a trade fair and OCOP product exhibition; culinary activities; street performances themed “Durian Dance”; and cultural exchanges among villages and hamlets.

In particular, on August 23, a livestream programme promoting durian for export and expressing appreciation to consumers was held at the orchard, with the participation of comrade Ngo Thi Minh Trinh, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairwoman of the People’s Council of Ea Knuec Commune, along with artists, KOLs, representatives of cooperatives, and import-export enterprises.
