Dak Lak PPC recently held a workshop to collect feedback on the dossier for adjustments to Dak Lak Provincial Planning for the 2021-2030 period, with a vision toward 2050. The event was connected online with People’s Committees of 102 communes and wards across the province.

At the workshop, delegates focused on highlighting Dak Lak’s “strategic message” as a maritime gateway of the Central Highlands, a pivotal link connecting the Central Highlands, South Central Coast combined with Southeast region, as well as a unified “highland-coastal” development space and a strategic area in terms of national defence-security, ecology along with water resource security. Discussions also clarified the province’s spatial structure featuring “three regions - two centres - three growth poles - three development corridors”.
Experts together with scientists contributed not only comments on wording and technical matters, but also recommendations for a new development model, spatial organisation, key projects along with strategic works, alongside mechanisms and approaches ensuring that “planning leads the way, capital follows, enterprises accompany and people benefit”. Business community representatives also provided detailed opinions on development orientation maps for each sector, region and field, while identifying institutional, policy, infrastructure and human resource bottlenecks, together with issues requiring resolution for Dak Lak to become a more attractive destination for investment, living as well as employment.
The adjustment of Dak Lak Provincial Planning for the 2021-2030 period, with a vision to 2050, is expected to support the province in building a clean, strong alongside efficient Party organisation and political system, while ensuring major development targets are achieved. Under the planning framework, average GRDP growth during 2026-2030 is projected to reach at least 11% annually, while GRDP per capita, at current prices, is expected to exceed 157 million VND by 2030.

During the 2026-2030 period, total social investment capital is projected to surpass 625 trillion VND, accounting for around 35% of GRDP at current prices. Total export turnover is expected to exceed $13 billion US, with average annual growth of 5-6%, while tourism revenue is projected to reach 97.15 trillion VND, increasing by an average of 14.5% per year. The province also aims to reduce the overall poverty rate by more than 2% annually, while poverty among ethnic minority households is expected to decline by over 3% per year. By 2030, Dak Lak targets the virtual elimination of poor households under the multidimensional poverty standards for the 2022-2025 period. By 2050, Dak Lak strives to become one of the country’s well-developed provinces, possessing a modern economy with a balanced structure and sustainable green growth.
Delivering closing remarks at the workshop, PPC Chairman, comrade Do Huu Huy affirmed that the province highly values and will seriously incorporate all opinions contributed at the event. He also expressed hope for continued support together with cooperation from central ministries and agencies, experts, scientists, enterprises as well as investors during the process of finalising while implementing provincial planning in the coming period. The PPC Chairman requested departments, sectors, localities, relevant agencies and the consortium of consulting units to continue upholding their sense of responsibility, mobilise resources alongside urgently review and fully absorb all feedback from the workshop in order to complete the planning dossier in line with required quality coupled with schedule.
