Building momentum across multiple sectors

In 2026, Dak Lak Department of Industry and Trade will focus on directing and effectively implementing programmes, plans, projects and resolutions of the Central Government and the province, promoting development across the sector’s key areas and contributing to the province’s transition into a new stage of growth.

Growth indicators

In 2025, all economic targets of the province’s industry and trade sector either met or exceeded the set plans, particularly in the main pillars of exports, industrial production and domestic trade. During the year, total retail sales of goods and service revenue reached 186,431 billion VND, up 11.9% and achieving 102.3% of the plan; total export turnover reached 2.8 billion USD, up 26% and exceeding the plan by 25.3%; the industrial production index increased by 12% compared with 2024.

In industrial production, the coffee sector recorded outstanding growth as selling prices remained high and demand for Robusta coffee rose sharply. Annual output reached 53,000 tonnes, exceeding the plan by 51.4% and rising 28.7% year on year. Output of processed cashew kernels for export reached 49,500 tonnes, achieving 244.4% of the annual plan and increasing 16% compared with the same period.

The electricity industry posted impressive growth, with output exceeding 9.7 billion kWh, up 13.68%. This result was attributable to the stable operation of wind and solar power plants and higher water levels at hydropower reservoirs than at the beginning of 2024. The province currently operates a diverse power generation system, comprising 25 hydropower plants, 16 solar power projects and large-scale wind power clusters operating effectively.

According to the Department of Industry and Trade, the province continues to affirm its export advantages in strategic agricultural and aquatic products. Preliminary assessments indicate that following the provincial merger and related changes, export activities have maintained strong and stable growth. Total export turnover reached 2.8 billion USD, up 26% year on year and exceeding the annual plan by 25.3%. Trade activities also sustained stable growth, higher than the 2021-2025 average of 9.4%.

During the year, the intra-provincial goods market remained stable. Both traditional and modern retail systems continued to expand in scale, meeting the growing purchasing demand of the population.

Promoting multi-sector development

According to Tran Quoc Toan, Deputy Director of the Department of Industry and Trade, the sector’s growth has been driven not only by maximising local potential and advantages, but also by proactive direction in removing difficulties for enterprises, ensuring market stability and facilitating import-export activities, and accelerating the implementation of Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW of the Politburo on breakthroughs in science and technology development, innovation and national digital transformation.

For 2026, the targets are as follows: the industrial production index is projected to grow by 9.5%; total retail sales of goods and service revenue are expected to reach 204,500 billion VND, up 9.7%; total export turnover is projected at nearly 2.92 billion USD, up 4.3%; and total import turnover is expected to reach 870 million USD, up 1.2% compared with 2025.

To achieve these targets, the Dak Lak industry and trade sector will focus on implementing key solutions aligned with programmes, projects and resolutions of the Central Government and the province. Priority will be given to promoting the development of industrial cluster infrastructure and strengthening the management of food safety and industrial explosives. The sector will also prioritise sustainable energy development, ensuring power supply and grid safety, while stepping up trade promotion, international integration and the effective implementation of market stabilisation measures.
