PPC Chairman meets with consultants on the revised zoning plan for the Southern Tuy Hoa new urban area

Alternate Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and PPC Chairman, comrade Do Huu Huy chaired a working session with relevant departments, agencies, local authorities together with the planning consultant to review the draft revised zoning plan for the Southern Tuy Hoa new urban area, now located in Phu Yen ward, Dak Lak province.

According to the consulting unit, the planning area covers approximately 375.31 hectares, bounded by the East Sea to the east, the North - South railway to the west, Ngo Gia Tu street to the south and the Da Rang river to the north. The planning horizon extends to 2040.

Under the revised plan, the area is envisioned as a premium urban centre coupled with a hub for finance, trade, services and tourism in southern Tuy Hoa. The plan also provides for upgrading of existing residential areas along with developing new urban areas south of the Da Rang river. The projected population is approximately 35,000, with planning standards aligned with those of a Grade I urban area.

The planning area is organised into seven functional subzones, including residential areas, commercial-service districts, social housing, tourism and cultural zones, a central park, a fishing port combined with fisheries trading area, as well as a coastal development zone featuring modern commercial, financial and service facilities.

During the meeting, delegates focused discussions on land-use structure, architectural combined with spatial planning, transport network, technical infrastructure, drainage, flood prevention and control, environmental protection, alongside consistency with the Dak Lak Provincial Planning and the master plan for the South Phu Yen Economic Zone through 2040.

Concluding the session, comrade Do Huu Huy instructed the Phu Yen Economic Zone Management Board together with the planning consultant to fully incorporate recommendations from departments and agencies while comprehensively reviewing land-use structure, planning indicators, projected population, technical infrastructure solutions and urban spatial organisation.

The PPC Chairman emphasised that the revised plan must be practical, aligned with higher-level planning frameworks, fully capitalise on the area's riverfront and coastal advantages while serving as a new growth driver for the provincial eastern region. He requested the planning dossier be finalised promptly for submission to the competent authorities for approval.
