On the morning of April 29, the PPC convened a conference to collect feedback on the adjusted Dak Lak Provincial Planning Report for the 2021 - 2030 period, with a vision to 2050.
Under the proposed orientation, by 2030 Dak Lak aims to become a moderately developed province nationwide, gradually emerging as a centre for green economy and services, including logistics, healthcare, alongside education, for the South Central Coast - Central Highlands region as well as an attractive destination for domestic and international tourists.

The growth model will shift towards science, technology, innovation, and digital transformation, alongside the development of green and economy, circular economies, combined with marine economy, while improving labour productivity and enhancing climate adaptability.
Looking ahead to 2050, Dak Lak targets becoming a fairly developed province with a modern economy, a balanced structure, and sustainable green growth.
Notably, the draft planning outlines a new development model integrating the “sea - highlands” spatial framework. This is considered a driving force for economic restructuring towards a higher share of industry and services, expanding development space, along with enhancing international integration capacity.
Incorporating previous directives, the draft proposes adjustments to several key targets, including an average GRDP growth rate of 11% or higher for the 2026 - 2030 period, GRDP per capita of at least 164 million VND, and total social investment capital exceeding 674 trillion VND for the same period.
At the conference, delegates focused on strategic infrastructure orientation development, seaport systems, logistics, and East - West transport connectivity. Regarding the specific development potential of each locality, delegates proposed adding several strategic investment sectors, prioritising deep processing of agro-forestry-fishery products, logistics-supporting industries, along with clean energy, ensuring alignment with infrastructure capacity and environmental protection requirements, while preserving and promoting historical sites.

| PPC Chairman Do Huu Huy concluding remarks. |
In concluding remarks, Alternate Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, and PPC Chairman, comrade Do Huu Huy emphasised that the planning must clearly define development scenarios, growth targets, as well as spatial organisation based on a structure of three regions, three corridors, two centres, and three growth poles. Within this framework, the eastern area is identified as the provincial strategic growth engine, associated with the development of the South Phu Yen Economic Zone, marine economy, logistics services, along with industry.
The PPC Chairman requested that the consulting unit and relevant departments fully incorporate feedback from the conference, continue reviewing, while updating the planning content in a scientific, coherent, and feasible manner, together with further clarifying the provincial position and role within the broader regional development framework, particularly its linkages with the South Central Coast - Central Highlands region.
Simultaneously, it is necessary to thoroughly assess the role of longitudinal and transverse transport corridors, strengthening synchronised connectivity with existing infrastructure systems alongside future strategic infrastructure projects in order to maximise investment efficiency and expand development space.
