According to reports at the meeting, in the Q1 of 2026, coastal localities continued to maintain recovery momentum, achieving positive outcomes. Total production value was estimated at approximately 1.5 trillion VND, up roughly 8% year-on-year. Seafood output saw a fairly strong increase, while trade-service activities showed continued improvement. Tourism gradually rebounded, attracting about 150,000-200,000 visitors, with revenue exceeding 200 billion VND.
Budget revenue collection received due attention from local authorities, with most localities reaching over 30% of annual targets. Administrative reform alongside digital transformation was further accelerated, with the rate of on-time or early dossier settlement exceeded 98%. All localities have deployed an electronic one-stop-shop system. Cultural-social fields, social welfare, as well as national defence and security remained ensured.
At the meeting, localities also candidly pointed out a number of shortcomings along with limitations. They proposed provincial support in allocating resources for investment in technical infrastructure, education, healthcare and culture; resolving bottlenecks related to land, planning alongside site clearance; supplementing staffing in understaffed sectors; upgrading IT infrastructure for digital transformation; while introducing mechanisms supporting marine tourism, marine economy and aquaculture.

Concluding the session, Alternate member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and PPC Chairman, comrade Do Huu Huy emphasised that the eastern coastal area holds a particularly important position as a strategic development space and a provincial key growth driver in the coming period. With advantages in marine economy, tourism, trade-services, aquaculture, seafood exploitation, along with substantial potential for urban, industrial, logistics development, coastal localities should proactively leverage existing potential as well as strengths to accelerate growth.
The provincial leader requested communes, wards to clearly identify bottlenecks, particularly in land management, planning, compensation, site clearance, as well as creation of clean land funds for timely resolution. These are considered urgent, central tasks aimed at attracting major investment projects, promoting idevelopment of infrastructure, services and key economic sectors. Simultaneously, localities were urged to prioritise completion of essential infrastructure, intensify administrative reform, alongside improve investment-business environment to better serve people and enterprises. Leaders at commune together with ward level must demonstrate strong sense of responsibility as well as make specific commitments on implementation progress, especially regarding site clearance for key projects.
The PPC Chairman also requested departments along with agencies to enhance coordination with localities, proactively provide guidance, promptly address issues related to mechanisms, policies, investment procedures, land and planning, thereby creating favourable conditions for the eastern coastal area to fully play its role as a provincial key growth pole, striving for double-digit growth in 2026.
