Taking advantages of a synchronized transportation infrastructure system, the location as the provincial eastern gateway, proximity to Tuy Hoa Airport, alongside the convergence of coastal landscapes, cultural heritage, traditional craft villages combined with unique cuisine, Phu Yen ward is gradually developing tourism products with its own distinct identity, creating an attraction for tourists.

Following administrative reorganization, Phu Yen ward possesses numerous advantages to achieve breakthroughs in economy, services, and tourism. As one of the central wards in the eastern part, Phu Yen ward holds a fairly synchronized transportation infrastructure system including coastal routes conveniently connecting to the urban center, National Road 1. Furthermore, it is located adjacent to Tuy Hoa Airport, facilitating for forming suitable tours as well as itineraries.

Beyond the infrastructure advantages, Phu Yen ward has had Phu Dong beach, Xom Ro embankment, a traditional fishing village, together with a wealth of cultural and historical values. The area boasts the Lam Phu Lam National Architectural alongside Artistic Monument, the Cau Ngu festival, tuna fishing, fish sauce production, fishing-net weaving, along with rich seafood cuisine, creating a foundation for developing the experiential, cultural, combined with community-based tourism.

The “Dong Tac Run - Connecting footprints” race organized by Phu Yen ward attracting more than 1,000 participants, contributing to promoting the image of the locality.

According to Mr. Le Ngoc Thai, Head of the Culture and Social Affairs Department of Phu Yen ward, it’s the harmonious combination of natural resources, cultural heritage, combined with transportation infrastructure that has opened up significant potential chance for developing the ward’s experiential tourism, community-based tourism, and cultural tourism products.

Creating a breakthrough impetus

To effectively exploit its potential, Phu Yen ward has rolled out a wide range of tourism promotion activities. The locality has recently organized a series of tourism activities in 2026 with the theme “Phu Yen meeting point - The blue sea welcomes you”, including cultural, sports, culinary activities, OCOP product exhibitions, as well as tourism promotion.

According to the local guidelines, tourism has been identified as a key economic pillar, driving growth in trade coupled with services, while creating jobs, increasing income for the people.

Therefore, along with event organisation, the ward continues to invest in improving infrastructure, beautifying the landscape, protecting the environment, and promoting digital transformation in advertising. It also collaborates with travel agencies to create experiential tours together with itineraries linked to coastal attractions, heritage sites, traditional crafts, alongside local culture.

The locality also encourages to develop OCOP products, expanding traditional craft village models, improving the quality of accommodation and food services, combined with providing tourism skills training for the residents. Beyond attracting more visitors, these efforts aim to establish Phu Yen ward as a “Friendly - Safe - Hospitable” destination, further contributing to affirming its position on the provincial tourism map.
