Dak Lak PPC recently held a working session with De Heus Group of the Netherlands and Hung Nhon Group on plans to develop a provincial high-tech agricultural value chain.

Representatives from both companies said DHN Dak Lak 1 High-Tech Livestock Complex in Ea M'Droh Commune operates to international standards. Covering nearly 50 hectares, the project represents investment of almost 1 trillion VND.

Under the proposal, the novel investment programme in Dak Lak will be built around three pillars: expanding high-tech livestock farming, developing large-scale raw material areas, and completing an integrated value chain through an integrated raw material processing coupled with animal feed manufacturing complex.

Specifically, the companies proposed investing around 1 trillion VND in DHN Dak Lak 2 High-Tech Livestock Complex, designed for 2,500 pedigree great-grandparent breeding pigs. Scheduled for implementation during 2027-2029, the project will prioritise site assessments in Ea Sup, Buon Don, Ea Wer and Ea M'Droh communes. It also envisages expanding raw material areas, raising annual output from 100,000 tonnes to 300,000 tonnes through partnerships involving farmers, cooperatives as well as local businesses.

According to Mr. Johan van den Ban, General Director of De Heus Vietnam and Asia, both companies are also considering investment in an integrated raw material processing alongside animal feed manufacturing complex valued at around 50 million US$. Closely linked with local raw material areas, the project is expected to establish a seamless value chain spanning production, processing through livestock farming.

The companies requested provincial authorities to identify sites aligned with planning schemes, provide guidance on investment procedures, and facilitate cooperation among local administrations, farmers, cooperatives combined with businesses to establish a sustainable agricultural value chain.

Addressing the meeting, comrade Do Huu Huy, Alternate Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Secretary of Dak Lak Provincial Party Committee and PPC Chairman, said Dak Lak possesses significant agricultural potential as well as is pursuing a development strategy focused on modern, high-tech, value-added agriculture.

He reaffirmed provincial support for the large-scale high-tech agricultural value chain proposed by De Heus together with Hung Nhon. Provincial leaders expect the investment programme to strengthen livestock production capacity, expand raw material areas, enhance agricultural value, while creating more employment opportunities for local communities.

Relevant departments, agencies alongside local authorities will coordinate closely to remove bottlenecks and facilitate project implementation, particularly regarding administrative procedures, land access as well as raw material development.
