Dak Lak unveils the adjusted Provincial Planning, opening up new development opportunities

On the morning of June 27, 2026, the Dak Lak PPC officially announced the Decision approving the adjusted Dak Lak Provincial Planning for the 2021 - 2030 period, with a vision towards 2050.

Opening the conference, comrade Do Huu Huy, Alternate Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, and PPC Chairman, emphasised that the conference was taking place at a pivotal moment in Dak Lak's development. Following the reorganisation of provincial-level administrative units, Dak Lak is entering a new development stage marked by an expanded development landscape, stronger resources, a stronger strategic position alongside unprecedented growth opportunities. A defining feature of this transformation is the formation of three interconnected as well as mutually reinforcing development spaces, creating a distinctive competitive advantage for the province.

At the conference, comrade Truong Cong Thai, Member of the Provincial Party Committee and PPC Vice Chairman, announced Decision No. 1589/QD-UBND, dated May 29, 2026, issued by the PPC Chairman, approving the adjusted Dak Lak Provincial Planning for the 2021 - 2030 period, with a vision towards 2050. The revised plan was formulated following the merger of Dak Lak province together with the former Phu Yen province, ensuring consistency with the National Master Plan, regional plans for the South Central Coast and the Central Highlands, national sectoral plans, together with major policies combined with strategic orientations set by the Party Central Committee.

Under the revised planning, by 2030, Dak Lak aims to become one of the country's dynamic provinces, serving as a green economy centre and a regional service hub for the South Central Coast coupled with the Central Highlands. The province will pursue a new growth model driven by science and technology, innovation, alongside digital transformation, while promoting green economy, circular economy and marine economy. It also aims to develop a modern along with synchronised digital infrastructure, alongside an integrated transport network ensuring seamless connectivity province-wide as well as neighbouring regions.

The provincial development framework is organised around three economic regions, three development corridors, two growth centres, and three growth poles, maximising the synergies created by the merger, reinforcing regional connectivity while generating novel growth momentum. The plan targets an average annual GRDP growth rate of at least 11% by 2030, with GRDP per capita reaching approximately 164 million VND and total social investment exceeding 676 trillion VND. Looking ahead to 2050, Dak Lak aspires to become the development nucleus along with strategic connectivity hub of the South Central Coast and Central Highlands, while evolving into a modern, smart, distinctive and highly liveable urban province.
