Dak Lak records 7.84% GRDP growth in first half of 2026

The Dak Lak Provincial Statistics Office has held a press conference announcing the provincial socio-eco statistics for the first half (H1) of 2026.

Throughout H1 2026, Dak Lak's socio-eco performance remained broadly stable and delivered numerous positive outcomes. Economic growth maintained solid momentum. Agricultural production continued expanding, with key commodities including coffee, pepper combined with durian further reinforcing their competitive advantages. Trade, services and tourism remained standout performers, with the services sector serving as the principal growth driver while making the largest contribution to the provincial GRDP.

The provincial GRDP, calculated at 2020 constant prices, reached an estimated 79,499.8 billion VND in H1, up 7.84% year-on-year. The agriculture, forestry and fisheries sector expanded by 5.98%, industry coupled with construction by 11.12%, and services by 7.34%. Taxes less subsidies on products increased by 7.3%. At current prices, GRDP was estimated at 100,145.3 billion VND, equivalent to 39.44% of the annual target.

Among all sectors, industrial production recorded a strong recovery while maintaining robust growth. The Index of Industrial Production (IIP) rose by an estimated 14.04% compared with the corresponding period last year.

During H1, the province recorded 1,991 newly established enterprises with combined registered capital of 16.2 trillion VND, representing an increase of 34.53% in enterprise number despite a 28.92% decline in registered capital year-on-year. Another 442 enterprises resumed operations, up 29.62%. Meanwhile, 428 enterprises were dissolved, an increase of 98.15%, while 1,209 enterprises temporarily suspended operations, up 12.26% from a year earlier.

Investment attraction also showed encouraging signs, with numerous investors visiting the province to explore opportunities. Dak Lak unveiled a portfolio of 257 investment projects for the 2026 - 2030 period, requiring total estimated investment of approximately 1,032 trillion VND, providing a basis for investors to conduct research, undertake site surveys and propose suitable investment plans.

According to the Dak Lak Provincial Statistics Office, total retail sales of goods as well as consumer service revenue at current prices reached an estimated 105,130.4 billion VND during H1, up 15.74% year-on-year.

Budget revenue and expenditure remained under prudent along with proactive management. Culture and social welfare, education, healthcare together with social security continued receiving close attention alongside were implemented effectively. Administrative reform, digital transformation, government development alongside organisational restructuring progressed in a coordinated manner. National defence, security as well as social order and safety remained firmly safeguarded.

As of June 2026, the province had 838 out of 1,351 schools meeting national standards, equivalent to 62% of all schools, while the proportion of permanent classrooms reached approximately 83.5%. School enrolment indicators remained consistently high.
