Comrade Do Huu Huy, Alternate Member of Party Central Committee, Deputy Secretary of Dak Lak Provincial Party Committee and Dak Lak PPC Chairman, recently chaired a meeting reviewing preparations alongside implementation plans for activities under Dak Lak Durian Festival 2026.

According to a report by Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, as of August 4, organisational plans coupled with detailed implementation scenarios had been completed for all 15 flagship festival events, together with pre-festival communications and promotional campaigns. Numerous key components have entered final stages of preparation, rehearsals as well as trial operations, with communication efforts continuing regularly to ensure consistency and timely public outreach.

Festival's product exhibition along with promotion programme has attracted 142 exhibitors, registering 310 booths. Tourism sector has developed six tour frameworks alongside eight experiential itineraries lasting from one to three days, offered by five travel companies to serve visitors throughout festival. For Durian Culinary Festival, Organising Committee has completed documentation seeking Vietnam Record recognition from VietKings for 102 durian-based dishes. Simultaneously, construction is under way on a check-in area featuring a giant "Durian Basket" installation at 10-3 Square, with registration dossier for another Vietnam Record already accepted by VietKings.

Among activities expected to generate the widest public attention is a promotional parade involving 500 pickup trucks. Organising Committee has officially submitted an application to Guinness World Records, secured participation from all 500 vehicles, while coordinating with police to finalise plans ensuring security, public order combined with traffic management throughout event.

Addressing meeting, PPC Chairman, comrade Do Huu Huy stressed that festival must generate tangible economic benefits for local people and businesses while enhancing reputation of Dak Lak Durian brand, rather than placing excessive emphasis on ceremonial activities. He also instructed relevant agencies to work closely with provincial police in preparing traffic management plans, emergency rescue and medical evacuation scenarios, alongside fire prevention and firefighting measures for 500-pickup-truck parade. Health authorities were directed to conduct comprehensive inspections, issue safety advisories as well as tighten food safety controls across accommodation establishments, restaurants and tourist service facilities, ensuring no food poisoning incidents occur that could undermine provincial image.
