On September 14 and 15, a Dak Lak provincial delegation led by comrade Tu Thai Giang, Standing Deputy Chairman of the Provincial People’s Council and Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, held working sessions with the Vietnamese Embassy in Japan, Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO), ASEAN-Japan Centre (AJC) alongside Lotte Group, highlighting the provincial potential and advantages while exploring opportunities for investment, trade, tourism promotion as well as  business connectivity.

Representing Dak Lak provincial leadership, comrade Tu Thai Giang outlined the provincial novel development space, potential, advantages combined with investment-attraction orientations. He called on the Vietnamese Embassy to continue facilitating connections between Dak Lak and Japanese businesses, corporations, associations along with local authorities, while supporting promotion of the provincial investment environment, agricultural products, OCOP products, tourism and image in the Japanese market.

Vietnamese Ambassador to Japan, Mr. Pham Quang Hieu praised Dak Lak’s proactive efforts in investment promotion coupled with business connectivity in Japan. The Embassy will step up support for Dak Lak in connecting with Japanese businesses, organisations and partners, while advising the province on market trends, priority sectors and issues of interest in Japanese stakeholders, thereby sharpening investment, trade as well as tourism promotion.

During working sessions with JETRO, AJC and Lotte Group, the delegation presented Dak Lak’s potential together with advantages following the merger, highlighting abundant, high-quality agricultural resources, including coffee, cocoa, durian, pepper and aquatic products, combined with transport infrastructure undergoing gradual completion.

Alongside introducing the 2026-2030 investment-attraction project list, the delegation called on Japanese organisations coupled with businesses to help connect investors with key projects in high-tech agriculture, deep processing, commercial-service centre networks, renewable energy, industrial park infrastructure, seaports and logistics.

The province also sought Japanese support in providing information on consumer preferences coupled with technical standards; facilitating B2B trade connections; creating opportunities for Dak Lak businesses to participate in forums and exhibitions; while sharing experience in digital transformation, green transition and sustainable tourism development. The province affirmed its commitment to facilitating cooperation through land access, planning, legal procedures combined with broader partnership opportunities.

Representatives from Japanese organisations and businesses spoke highly of Dak Lak’s potential, position along with development orientations, pledging continued promotion of the province among Japan’s business community while exploring suitable areas for cooperation.

Japanese organisations, agencies and businesses also offered provincial practical recommendations alongside strategic orientations, stressing a shift from traditional agricultural culture towards agribusiness; development of an integrated ecosystem covering production, processing and consumption; as well as transparent traceability aimed at building trusted brands and attracting major investors.

Beyond demand for high-quality agricultural products for processing, Japanese organisations together with businesses urged Dak Lak to intensify promotion, complete expressway connectivity, develop experiential tourism and raise hospitality standards, helping strengthen confidence among investors coupled with visitors.
