Leveraging products rooted in local strengths, numerous businesses in Dak Lak are gradually expanding into export markets and integrating more deeply into global value chains.
Winning markets through quality
Ba Hai JSC is a notable player in seafood processing for export, with canned tuna and ocean tuna as its main products. The company focuses on quality management coupled with refining production processes to meet international standards, while ensuring the legality of its seafood supplies. In the first nine months of 2026, Ba Hai’s export sales reached nearly 500 billion VND. The company expects full-year exports to total around 650 - 700 billion VND.
According to Mr. Le Van Hong, Ba Hai JSC Director, maintaining a strong position in international markets requires businesses to look beyond production and pay close attention to supply chain transparency, traceability as well as regulatory compliance.

Sharing the goal of bringing Dak Lak’s agricultural products to global markets, An Thai Investment and Development JSC has established an integrated production system comprising five subsidiaries along with five factories, offering a diverse range of deeply processed products. Mr. Nguyen Xuan Loi, General Director of An Thai, said adding value to products hinges on three key factors: input materials, modern machinery and technology, combined with production processes that place people at their centre.
In 2018, An Thai was assigned to lead a task under the project for developing high-quality Vietnamese coffee as a national product. This enabled the company to master advanced processing technologies while strengthening quality control and traceability. Remaining committed to export markets, An Thai has expanded its brand presence to more than 30 countries together with territories.
Strengthening long-term competitivenes
As businesses navigate this transition, production, management and distribution processes need to become more modern as well as efficient. Applying automation, digitising production data, streamlining order management and strengthening quality control can help businesses cut costs, boost productivity alongside minimise errors.
Beyond technology, brand building is also essential. Businesses need to research consumer demand, develop suitable products as well as step up promotion in target markets.

However, most local businesses are small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), with limited financial resources alongside a shortage of highly skilled personnel. Investment costs for technology, logistics and trade promotion, coupled with fluctuations in prices and international consumer demand, place considerable pressure on production along with business operations.
In this context, stronger links with cooperatives, raw material production zones, industry associations and trade promotion agencies would help businesses share information, organise production, seek partners alongside fulfil orders with stringent requirements. Efforts are also needed to improve the investment climate, support technological innovation and expand trade promotion activities.
Comrade Luong Nguyen Minh Triet, Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Head of the Provincial National Assembly delegation, affirmed that provincial leaders were committed to standing alongside businesses, providing support while creating favourable conditions for the business community to grow stronger and more sustainably. He also called on business associations to strengthen their role as intermediaries, organise practical activities to connect members as well as protect their legitimate interests.
By combining raw material advantages with technology, management capacity and strategic brand development, Dak Lak businesses will have greater opportunities to increase product value, expand markets together with strengthen their position in international supply chains.
