Dak Lak proposes key projects to promote investment cooperation with Thai businesses

On November 3, as part of its ongoing visit and working trip to Thailand, a Dak Lak provincial delegation led by comrade Y Giang Gry Nie Knong, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Dak Lak Province, held a working session with the Thailand Board of Investment (BOI).

At the meeting, the Dak Lak delegation provided an overview of the provincial potential and advantages, socio-eco development orientations, as well as priority sectors for investment attraction. As of September 2026, the province was home to nine projects by Thai investors, with total registered capital of approximately 76.79 million USD.

For the 2026 - 2030 period, Dak Lak has drawn up a list of 257 projects seeking investment across various sectors. Building on the locality’s potential and advantages, as well as its cooperation orientations with Thai partners, the province selected projects worth an estimated total investment of approximately 6.572 trillion VND for presentation. These projects focus on agriculture combined with raw material area development; industrial infrastructure and logistics; agricultural product processing; alongside trade and services.

In addition to these specific projects, the province seeks to expand cooperation with Thai businesses in energy, tourism and resort development, logistics, along with infrastructure serving production. Priority will be given to projects featuring advanced technologies, efficient resource utilisation and the potential to establish interconnected production, processing, distribution as well as export chains.

Addressing the meeting, comrade Y Giang Gry Nie Knong proposed BOI to help promote the provincial potential, investment environment and project portfolio among Thai corporations coupled with businesses; connect projects with suitable investors; and support the organisation of investment promotion programmes alongside field surveys in Dak Lak. The province pledged to proactively provide information and assist investors in exploring investment opportunities while completing relevant procedures in accordance with regulations.

Mr. Polapat Naphavaranonth, Director of the Thai Enterprise Development Division, said that, alongside its role in promoting domestic investment, BOI also facilitates overseas investment by Thai businesses. He expressed his hope that both sides would further strengthen information exchange and business connections, thereby creating favourable conditions for Thai investors to explore the investment environment along with study the implementation of provincial suitable projects in the coming time.
