Addressing bottlenecks, accelerating key driver projects

PPC Leaders held a working session with Phu Yen Economic Zone (EZ) Authority to review implementation of major and key projects in South Phu Yen EZ alongside industrial parks (IPs) in eastern areas, while addressing difficulties and bottlenecks arising during implementation.

South Phu Yen EZ is oriented develop into a multi-sector, multi-industry coastal EZ, serving as a key growth driver for both the province together with the wider region. With advantages in geographical location and a diverse transport network comprising road, rail, air alongside seaport systems, the area holds strong potential to develop into a modern centre for industry, logistics, services and urban expansion, linking the South Central Coast with the Central Highlands.

At present, within South Phu Yen EZ and eastern IPs, there are 11 IPs, five of which are already in operation, with average occupancy reaching around 90%. In Q1 2026, industrial production value is estimated at 2.6 trillion VND; export turnover reached 70 million US$; budget contributions stood at roughly 65 billion VND, while more than 11,500 jobs were generated. The EZ Authority has granted investment registration certificates for three new projects as well as one expansion project, with total registered capital exceeding 1.71 trillion VND.

For major and key projects, the authority is coordinating closely with departments, sectors, localities to resolve obstacles alongside accelerate implementation, particularly in compensation, site clearance and completion of investment procedures.

Concluding the session, PPC Chairman, comrade Do Huu Huy acknowledged and highly appreciated efforts by Phu Yen EZ Authority, especially in improving investment environment, attracting large-scale projects, gradually reinforcing role of South Phu Yen EZ as a provincial key growth pole.

He urged synchronised implementation of tasks, focusing on five core pillars: infrastructure, seaport development, attraction of strategic investors, tailored mechanisms and policies, human resource development. Simultaneously, it should enhance operational efficiency under “six clarities” principle, strengthen administrative discipline, as well as regularly review key project progress to promptly address emerging issues.

The provincial leader further called on relevant departments, sectors together with localities to strengthen coordination as well as support both authority and investors in resolving bottlenecks related to site clearance, infrastructure, investment procedures. Phu Yen EZ Authority was requested to review along with update its growth scenario, accelerating key driver projects, stepping up investment attraction, contributing to the provincial goal of achieving double-digit economic growth in 2026-2030 period.
